Steeming Community Contest Week #02 | “Dear Steemit”

Thanks to @fabio2614 for this contest. I have always wish to write my dear friend a letter. It has given me that opportunity. Thanks once again.

Dear steemit,

Our journey hasn’t been easy but, we are hoping for a lifelong friendship. It is a great honor and privilege given to me, to express my heartfelt love to you this very day. I hope every day is great and every member of your ecosystem is fine. I hope steemcommunity is good too. I write to tell you how things have been, more about myself and others.

It is almost one and half a month since we meet. I haven’t gotten the time to tell you more about myself. I am a simple guy who loves writing. I am from Ghana and currently a student of its premier university, the University of Ghana. I study Mathematics and computer science.

Studies are keen in life. I don’t live only on that. You bettered my writing skills. I am very grateful for that. You also help me to reduce my shyness that’s by giving me a platform to make friends. Not forgetting all these, I still find peace in playing football. It’s what I love doing. I can play football the whole day without being tired. I think you never knew this about me. I am telling you to know.

Football as a hobby!

Steemit, do you know I am an orphan? I lost my father when I was in primary 6. It was like a dream. It was on the 29th of September 2011 when the news came to me. It was easy for me to believe but, I had to accept it. I moved through it until I was almost done with my senior high education. I was recovering from pain when on the 28th of June 2018 after my wassce exams, I lost my mom. All these struggles I embraced them because I knew no matter what life is throwing at you, it is to make you stringer for a hard life ahead. I also knew things will get better. I hoped and I was saved when I meet you, my dear friend. You have been a great support to me.

Enough of sorrow, today was a lovely day for me. As we are in Ramadan, I have been praying well. I pray Allah makes things different for us and helps us achieve great things in life. Today is the last day of Ramadan and we will be celebrating Eid tomorrow. Do you know this is our first Eid festival together? I wish you were here to see how I will spend it. I have started with the preparations. I went for a haircut today. I am ready for tomorrow. But don’t worry I will share tomorrow’s diary with you. I hope that will be found to bridge the distance.

Back to our journey, it was when I met you that I learned many people shared the same hobby as me. You had people who loved writing, drawing, and others to teach us. You brought an improvement into my life. I will say you are a game-changer. Your communities such as writing and reviews, Steem Ghana, Steeming community, and the rest have helped me in great ways. Not forgetting Steemit Crypto Academy which has helped develop my mind in the crypto world. I love the journey I am taking with you

My dear friend, I think I will have to drop my pen here. It is great writing to you. I hope to read your reply soon. Keep being good to us and help me on my journey with you. I wish you well in life and until we hear from each other, stay safe from Covid-19.
