Maybe we need a post that basically sums up everything for newcomers that might not want to go through the achievement program

I don't think so. A post which sums up everything will further decrease chances of retention because at least in early phase there is something (achievement tasks) which if done properly guarantees upvote. Instead need is to engage users in more tasks, if possible.
