People who hurt us have weaknesses they try to hide and relieve by picking on others, that is true of the real world and very evident from your story. I like how realistic you ended the story... Many people go on to make the character become some president and so, putting false hope in people truly in similar situation. When they don't become those high end things that stories like that made them believe they'd become, they become extra depressed.
Thank you @damzxyno. I tried to keep it as realistic as possible without running it into a full story. As you rightly said, hurt people hurt people. It is inevitable. But we have to understand that everybody goes through pain. It is how you react to what happens to you that defines you; either you become just like those who hurt you or you become better. I generally like to see the positive side.
