Dear Steemians,

It is another great day to make a change and we thank the Almighty for this great opportunity.
For past centuries, there have been massive improvements and developments in all sectors in the world. These achievements help improve the way of life of individuals and also key to greater innovations in the future.
We have witnessed much more advancements especially in technology in the 21st century. In 2001, Dennis Tito began the era of commercial spaceflight by becoming the first space tourist. China in January, 2019 became the first to land a robotic spacecraft on the far side of the moon. These and many more inventions have happened within these few years. Many of these have attracted much attention around the world. The discovery of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies is one of the greatest inventions ever in my opinion.

This century is a century of technology. Due to the availability of the internet, great minds have used and will continue to use this opportunity to do fantastic and extraordinary things. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have been increasing in popularity around the globe. These currencies use online ledger with strong cryptography to do online transactions. They can be used to buy goods and services. They are an increasing number of merchants accepting cryptocurrencies especially Bitcoin all over the world. Now let’s talk about the most common and notable cryptocurrency.

BITCOIN
The first decentralized cryptocurrency was created in 2009 by a pseudonymous developer, Satoshi Nakamoto. SHA-256 was used in its proof-of-work scheme as the cryptographic hash function. It is a digital currency with no central authority that uses peer-to-peer technology to operate. Bitcoin is not physical and all transactions are verified by a huge amount of computing power. It is by far the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization and has inspired many people all over the globe. Many countries such the United States of America, Argentina, Brazil, Morocco, Mexico, etc. have accepted cryptocurrency for various purposes. Some countries such as Algeria, Nepal, Ecuador, Bolivia, among others have illegalize it due to its poor regulation system.

El-Salvador, a country in Central American whose currency was the United States Dollar has become the first country to adopt bitcoin as legal tender on the 8th June, 2021. The Bitcoinlaw has been approved by the supermajority in the Salvadorian congress receiving 62 out of the 84 votes.
This information above that just happened and it’s viral in social media makes me believe that cryptocurrency will make a huge impact on the lives of individuals around the globe as time progresses.
