Type and structure of life table
The life table is the history of the life and death of a certain number of people which indicates the possibility of passing from a certain age to the next age and death annihilates everyone.
"The life table is the life history of a hypothetical group or cohort of people as it is diminished gradually by death." - George W. Barclay.
From this, it is understood that the life chart is the biography of a group or cohort of people, by which it is gradually made lifeless by death.
The idea of a life table can be easily expressed by an example. Suppose some people are born on the same day. Although their lives begin on the same day, as the days go by their number will continue to decrease due to death, after a while, it will be seen that all the people have died. As a result, if we keep a record of the population that is constantly declining due to such deaths, The resulting table is called the life table.
The life table, then, is a document of history so that the history of the gradual extinction of all the people who were born at the same time at a particular time is recorded. This document begins with the news of everyone's birth and ends with the news of death or when no one is alive.
In the language of science, all those who are born together are called cohorts. This number of cohorts keeps losing at a certain rate with each age so that the number of cohorts becomes zero at one time. All matters imposed on the cohort are considered artificial or permitted. There are different types of life tables. There are 4 types of life table.
1.Full life table
2.Short life table
3.Contemporary life table
4.One generation life table
- The full life table is based on the life expectancy at one-year intervals. Creating a complete life table is difficult and arduous.
- A short lived table is prepared to eliminate the weaknesses and misconceptions of the full life table. Creating a life table in this way is quick and easy.
- Approximate age is used in contemporary life tables.
- The biography of the same cohort is recorded in the one generation life table.
