The Panchayat Drama series is just such an impeccable work of art. This eight-episode long web series is my favorite Indian TV show. It's a family drama-comedy type series which is written by Chandan Kumar and directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra. The Panchayat Web Series basically depicts the real problems of rural social life in such a beautiful and skillful way that it does not seem that you are watching the drama.

This web series has come out of the traditional movie or series and presented a different story. This series has been created by great craftsmanship in every section of acting, story, dialogue.

There was no superhuman story, just the real problems of the village are highlighted in terms of the realities of the rural society. Illiteracy, prejudice, racism, gender inequality - the director is so successful in portraying these issues that it does not seem for a moment, something extra is being done. The play beautifully illustrates how a young fresher graduate survives the new job life.

All the eight-episode was imagined. Every episode a new problem comes and everyone tries to find a good solution. The comedy is was not too much

The biggest aspect of the play is that it is a comedy type drama but did not show anything too much absurd to make the audience laugh. Just as much as humor needs to be presented just that much showed here.

Story Line

Most of the time in Indian web series main focus is always goes to portray the central character as the protagonist. But this series is totally an exception. No attempt has been made here to make the central character of the story superhuman.

A young man name Abhishek Tripathi(Jitendra Kumar) who just passed an engineering graduate and looking for a corporate job by heart and soul. When he finds no other jobs and sitting at home just doesn’t seem feasible, he takes up a government job as the Panchayat Sachiv (secretary) of the Phulera village panchayat in Uttar Pradesh's Balliya district. His friend encouraged him to do the job by telling him that it's a chance to live an adventurous life but in reality, it was as far as exciting.

When he comes to the come working place he tries to adjust his life with the working environment. Which was in a very rhythm. Abhishek sees upon arrival is administrative fraud. The panchayat head was Manju Devi (Neena Gupta), but only on paper because Phulera is actually governed by Manju’s husband Brij Bhushan Dubey (Raghuvir Yadav).

In fact, the post of panchayat head of the village was reserved for women by the government, so Brij Bhushan Dubey fielded his wife Manju Devi in the election and won. But since the housewife Manju Devi is busy with the housework, the husband runs the panchayat. Everyone in the village calls him Pradhanji. Although Manju Devi is the chief on paper, her husband was the real head of the village.

But Abhishek doesn’t report matters to higher-ups. Instead, he splits his time as panchayat secretary to prepare for his MBA exams — his only ticket out of this rural dump. That proves a little difficult, with the electricity going off each night and petty conflicts weighing on his urban wit.

The green-colored vegetable name gourd plays a vital role in the story. When Pradhanji(Brij Bhushan Dubey) wants to convince someone he usually gave this vegetable as a gift. His wife Manju Devi didn't like it.

Abhishek found the people of the village were good in heart but they were not good with brain work thinking. Most of them were superstitious and unaware of modern life.

Each episode hinges around some small thing like Avishek buys a chair, goes to the local market to get a photograph for the CAT exam, etc. All these simple things get the story deeper in this film. This simple thing matter in rural life.

The coexistence of ignorance with simplicity resulted in ignorance becoming an obstacle in the way of the overall development of the village. There are some people of innocent simple nature who have learned to accept the shortcomings of load shedding, superstition, unscientific thinking, and the politics of voting. Freeing them from this unchanging bound mentality seems to be the priority of Abhishek's job.

The whole drama is based on various solutions to the problems of the village where Abhishek was trying to change people's minds and on the other side he was preparing for the CAT exam for a corporate job on the other.

Abhishek Tripathi: Who plays the central character, Abhishek Tripathi, is an urban boy. Barely passed engineering. He is not happy with the job. He is trying hard to adjusting to the rural environment.

He is an extraordinary actor and he plays his role fabulously. I will give him 4.8 out of 5.

Raghuvir Yadav

Raghuvir Yadav: Raghubir Yadav has played the role of Brij Bhushan Dubey, the second main character of the story. Brij Bhushan Dubey is the head of the village panchayat of Phulera. He plays the duties of Pradhan which he is not officially. Although he is an expert in administrative work, he obeys his wife Manju Devi.

Undoubtedly, Raghuvir Yadav's relaxed and smooth performance has proved that he is the best for this character.

Neena Gupta: Nina Gupta has played the role of Manju Devi in ​​the story. Manju Devi not that literate. She always kept herself busy with household work. Though she is officially Panchayat Pradhan, she doesn't care about it.

Neena Gupta is an expert and she played her role smoothly. She knows how much she has to give in the character.

Faisal Malik: Faisal Malik, who played the role of the lead assistant panchayat, was impeccable. In his role as Deputy Panchayat Head, he has represented a full-fledged rural man. His acting was quite fluent in need of character.

Chandan Roy's performance as the office assistant of the panchayat office is also quite commendable. Although educated, the rural backwardness did not allow him to go far. So this character has been shown as a bit superstitious. But he has done quite admirably in this challenging character.

The rest of the characters in the story also gave the maximum from their respective places as needed. Also, the dialogue of the story was impeccable. Subtle humor has been evoked through rural dialogue. The dialogues were so impeccable that there was no need to create separate humor.

What films do in our society, What's the main purpose of a drama? The main purpose of a film is to point out the problem? It questions the problem, It forces people to think about those problems. Panchayat also pointing out the problem of our rural life, also showed the problem of freshers' job life, encourages women empowerment.
