"I Thought That My Life Is A TRAGEDY But Now I Can Realise That My Life Is Nothing But COMEDY" - Joker
Joker is one of the most successful DC Comics character. This character is very much loved as a perfect villain. Today, I'm going to share "Joker (2019) movie review with you. This is one of the most popular Movie directed by Todd Phillips. So without wasting time, Let's directly go to the movie review.
Joker (2019)
Source
Genre: Crime/Drama
Duration: 2h 2m
Director: Todd Phillips
Main Character: Joaquin Phoenix (Joker)
An unstable, unsuccessful, filthy-living, hallucinating, aspiring stand-up comedian who has a history of mental illness as a result of his traumatic upbringing and his mother, who is also an ex-patient with mental illness, is abused and harassed by his society, prefers to express his rage against bad people through killings under the Joker mask he developed for survival.
Summary (No Spoiler)
Arthur Fleck is a struggling clown and aspiring stand-up comedian who shares a shabby apartment with his mother in downtown Gotham City (a fictitious DC Comics city). All that matters to clown Arthur Fleck is to become popular, and he will go to any length to achieve his goal. Whether the action takes place in the real world or in his mind as a psychiatric patient, the concepts of mental illness, unchecked ambition, celebrity culture, and self-delusion are explored.
Arthur's world is a gritty and cruel one, where he works as a clown on the streets of Gotham City, where he gets beaten up by horrible teenagers in an alleyway while trying to draw customers to a retail store, and where, most tragically, he discovers that his mother is not his biological mother, and that he was not conceived on the right side of the sheets.
Fleck kills three wealthy businessmen on a train at a pivotal point in the film. When the men begin to pick on him and threaten him, Fleck decides to take drastic action. The story turns around from this point.
Fleck becomes an unknown hero in the community due to his acts of assassinating three rich businessmen, uniting the lower class, and organizing demonstrations for reform in the region. It gives him the impression that what he did was acceptable when it wasn't. The outpouring of support he got from the public may have contributed to the situation's escalation.
Gradually he becomes more ferocious & started changing his identity because of the hardship & struggle of his life. Thus this movie follows to a dramatic end.
Cinematography
The cinematography was stunning, and the film's tone aided in highlighting the decaying state of Gotham and its characters. The movie's music was also excellent; it wasn't omnipresent, but when it was performed, it quickly enhanced the suspense.
The visual representation was also on another level. The joker character was perfectly portrayed.
My Opinion About This Movie
Source
The Joker has also appeared as a villain in the Batman films and in the film "Suicide Squad." But this is the first film to show the origin stories of "Joker."
This is, without a doubt, the most realistic comic book film I've ever seen. First and foremost, kudos to Joaquin Phoenix for playing this dynamic character so well; it's amazing to see how much depth he gave the character, and not to mention how well he nails the classic Joker laugh, which is crucial to the character. It's difficult to say whether he or Heath Ledger was the better Joker because both versions have slightly different backstories. And that takes me to my next point: the way Todd Phillips took this character in terms of character identity was really well executed.
My Personal Rating
Overall Rating: 9/10
Cinematography: 9/10
Plot: 7/10
Acting: 8/10
Many more things can be shared about this blockbuster movie. But as the words limitation is Between 300-600, I cannot but end here. But a suggestion for the readers haven’t watched this movie yet, try to watch "The Dark Knight" movie first before watching this. I've made a movie review of " The Dark Knight" Also. What about this line of joker movie? Nice review from you.
It's very difficult to describe. This might be another unsuccessful joke that he wrote in his diary. Might be he wanted to write "sense" at first, then he crossed it & wrote "cents" to make it more like a joke.
But from my opinion, he knows that his life is worthless. He's invisible to others. He hopes that his death will be more noteworthy and memorable than his current life that he is living
By the way, thanks for stopping by & appreciating.
Good explanation. Thank you.
