Story and screenplay

Birajbau is a popular novel written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay . The novel was published in Bharatvarsha in the Poush and Magh issues of 1323 BS. Birajbau is the first novel of Saratchandra published in that magazine. The book was published in book form by Gurudas Chattopadhyay & Sons in the month of Baishakh 1323 BS (2 May 1914 AD). This is the author's second printed book. Saratchandra first composed Birajbau in the form of a story. Later, at the insistence of his friend Jogendranath Sarkar, he expanded it into a novel.The novel was written during the author's exile in Rangoon. Saratchandra sold the rights to the book to publisher Gurudas Chattopadhyay & Sons for Rs 200.

Finally dirrector Monu sen read those novel and fully satisfied and decided to follow the novels and create this famous movie. Monu sen with Anup Kumar, Uttam Kumar, Kamal Mitra, Madhabi Mukherjee.they are the vital roll of this movie.

The main characters of the movie are Uttam Kumar and Madhavi Chatterjee. In this movie we see Madhavi Chatterjee as Biraj Bau. Biraj's got married at a very young age and came to her husband's house. In fact, she grew up with her husband.And for this reason only husband is the best one to her. She thinks her husband is her best friend and she can secrifize her life for his husband. Her husband also loved his wife. They had one little sister in law and one brother in law their family. Biraj and her husband raised Nanad and Devar like their own children.

Their family was going well. Once upon a time there was a good house for brides. Then they borrowed a lot of money and got married. After the marriage, the responsibility of the family came on Biraj. Because they had to work hard to repay the loan. Biraj's brother-in-law betrayed them again. Biraj used to run the family alone with difficulty. Because Biraj's husband also used to get drunk. Due to various reasons, darkness comes down in the family. In this way, the distance between Biraj and her husband also increases. Her husband used to come and torture Biraj after drinking alcohol. Biraj still did not want to leave her husband

But once her husband misunderstood her. Biraj left the house in a haughty manner and went to a temple far away. Biraj's husband realizes his mistake and goes out to find his wife. But when he finds Biraj, Biraj has lost her eye power. she can't see her husband at the last minute.But voice tone is realizable.And in the end they apologize to each other and go home again . A wonderful movie. The lack of society at that time, family, love, anger, pride, everything is beautifully portrayed.I enjoyed the full movie with pleasure.
