I hope everyone is doing great.

This weeks topic ahh the most interesting topic and my favorite but one thing that took time is i could not decide that about which dish i should write..

MY FAVORITE DISH

Here i come with one of my favourite Indian dishes which is chicken makhani or Butter chicken 😁😋

RECIPE:

so here is the most important thing , its recipe Actually it is prepared in a buttery gravy and the addition of cream gives it a silky smooth rich texture, buttery gravy is the real specialty of this dish..

INGREDIENTS
For the chicken marinade:

  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • chicken thighs or breasts 0r whatever you like.
  • 1 and 1/2 tsps chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp minced ginger (or finely grated)
  • 2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp red chili powder (you can increase or decrease it according to your taste)
  • salt according to ur taste.

For the sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons ghee 
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger finely grated
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • (400 g) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp red chili powder (adjust to your taste preference)
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1 cup of thickened cream
  • 1 tsp sugar

PREPARATION

  • Combine chicken with all of the ingredients in a bowl let marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chicken pieces making sure not to crowd the pan. Fry until browned for only 3 minutes.
  • Heat butter in the pan and fry the chopped onions and leave for about 6 minutes.
  • Add garlic and ginger and mix until fragrant, then add ground coriander, cumin and garam masala to it .Stir occasionally.
  • Add crushed tomatoes, chili powder and salt.
  • Let simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until sauce thickens and a deep red brown color appears.
  • Remove from heat and when cool put the mixture into a blender and blend add 2 3 tsp of water so it will blend well.
  • Pour the blended sauce back into the pan. Add the cream, sugar and kasoori methi (or fenugreek leaves). Add the chicken for 8-10 minutes until chicken is cooked and the sauce is thick and bubbling.
  • Serve with chopped coriander leaves and some sliced ginger and serve with hot homemade Naan (bread)..

My favorite place for chicken makhani and its rates.

I mostly visit jalil tikka and bbq restaurant with my family to eat chicken makhani, and one full makhani cost about 950 rs there, the prices may differ in different restaurants and other shops.

WHAT PERCENTAGE OF PEOPLE LOVE IT ?

It ratio may differ in different places but as much as i know about 70% of the people in my surroundings love to eat chicken makhani especially people of Peshawar loved it and so am I.
