If we should induce punishment we should consider the effect of it and it should have a positive effect not a negative one. If it is negative we are not doing anything good rather are killing ourselves gradually

You are right mom. Giving punishment to someone knowing that it will instead hurt the person in a negative way is not appropriate at all because they are times you can punish a person and instead worsten the situation
