First match - Team A VS Team C
On the Saturday the 20th of November, the rookie basketball tournament was launched here at the University of Bamenda. There were 3 teams to play. Each team had 2 matches to play per day.

I am a member of Team C and my team may not look the toughest but, we had so much team work and cooperation that we won 1 match out of the 2 that we played on Saturday.
For the first match, we lost to Team A by a score difference of 3 points. The match ended 30-33, with Team A winning us. This was the most competitive match which I played for the day. They had huge players and highly skilled players. They were very experienced and looked like sure winners to everyone.
For the first 3 quarters, they were leading the game by 12 points. By the 4th quarter, we got our heads in the game and cut the lead from 12 points to 3 points. This made us realize that we have the potential to win Team A, what cost us the game was just fear.
Game 2 - Team C VS Team B.
By game 2, we were more confident and ready to play like never before. We were now to play against Team B. We definitely did not underestimate them, so we started the game by taking the lead and controlling the game. It was tough as well, but we made sure to come out on top. The game ended 33-30 with us, Team C winning Team B by a 3 point difference. This was the same score difference as the game with Team A.
We had such a great competition and we were glad to win 1 match from the 1st Round of the competition.
We went back home feeling joy but as our coach had earlier told us, "we should get some rest, drink enough water and come back tomorrow to play 110% as hard as we just did because our opponents will be even stronger tomorrow."
