RE: Comment contest//Rock music genre
Hello.
I will share with you my Progressive Metal song "Hail," which is in Ukrainian. I translated the lyrics into English. It's not the same because the rhymes were lost in translation, but it will give you an idea of what the song is about.
The model in the video is portrayed as a witch: @bluexastrid (this is not not Steem, but Tik Tok tag).
HAIL
[Verse 1]
My envious one cries salty tears:
Who wished me harm,
Who drew runes against me,
Who sent dark forces toward me,
Who did evil in my food, my drink, or with curses,
Or on the burial ground—
Get it back, enemy, hail to your head.
[Screamer]
To your head!
With chaos, hail, and lightning
To your head!
[Chorus]
It will be for you, enemy,
As Bogdan commands:
Hagalaz will smash you.
The one who did me harm
Now will fall into the ground.
[Verse 2]
What they read to me at midnight,
On the new moon or under the old moon,
By day or late at night,
At sunset or at dawn,
What they read, whispered,
What they cursed, what they planted—
Get it back, enemy, hail to your head!
✍ Bogdan Karasiov.
Finally a metal fan!! plus the translated lyrics sound so dope. woah!!
Thank you.
I occasionally shift between different music styles depending on my mood, from metal to deep house.
Nice to meet you.
Great lyrics and I like it. Add 2 more instruments and it's rock too.. or perhaps it already is. It's better not to stereotype the witch since they look completely different from what people have in mind.
Nothing scary about it @diodao
I tried different approaches to this song. Since the biggest challenges were with the vocals, I preferred a more minimalist arrangement to make the vocals clearer.
You managed to do that 😁👍
Thank you @aneukpineung78 for voting for my song.
Have a great evening =)
Care to tell me what instruments were used in this music? I am a hard music fan, love the sound of 4 pieces hard music: electric guitar, drum, bass and vocal, and maybe some piano and keyboard here and there.
Today the hard music has evolved and there are many varians to listen to, like this one you showed us.
Thank you ha ve a great evening.
These are all electronic instruments. Only in the last track about 'Runes of the Surf' did I additionally use a live sopilka (flute), but before that, all the tracks were made using FL Studio + sampling and Virtual DJ + AI assistance for arrangement. I’m currently saving money to buy an acoustic bass guitar, which will greatly simplify the creation of bass lines for me (because I play the guitar very well and compose much faster on it).
If you're interested, I talked in more detail about my approach to working with music three weeks ago in the post 'Can a musician who (among other instruments) uses AI assistance still be considered a musician/DJ? https://steemit.com/hive-145157/@golden-rain/chi-mozhe-muzikant-yakii-krim-inshikh-instrumentiv-vikoristovuye-dopomogu-shi-vse-she-vvazhatisya-muzikantom-didzheyem
Great that we also have a chance here to hear about Ukrainian songs!
It's lyrics are really great and meaningful!
I enjoyed your participation!
