New humanity? Fiction / ¿Nueva humanidad? Ficción. (Eng/Esp)
Since the world is world, nature has used certain strategies to seek in due course the balance. There are, as a result of research and discoveries, reports of meteor showers, of great glaciations that have literally swept away almost all living species, by the time such a disaster has occurred.
The time has come for a new glaciation...
No one, absolutely no one saw it coming, they didn't expect it but it came, as usual without warning and as in every natural drastic change, Not only the fittest survive but the one who manages to adapt faster to the new conditions.
Everything happened on what seemed like a normal day, when suddenly a set of clouds oppose the sun, not even a ray of light is allowed to pass to the earth. These, more than clouds looked like dark pieces of floating ice, simply appeared as a total eclipse.
Nobody understood what was happening, the meteorologists could not give any explanation of what happened, there was no known precedent.
It was the first time that humanity had witnessed a phenomenon that was first defined as a total eclipse worldwide, something never before seen.
They began by reporting on the darkness that covered the world, but little by little, in a matter of hours, they realized that the temperature was progressively decreasing at a rate of 1.5 degrees per hour and little by little this decrease increased until reaching under zero temperatures worldwide, which were between 10 and 40 degrees below zero.
It was the first day of this new glaciation, humans were able to overcome it and looked for a way to burn everything they had at hand to get heat, but many helpless animals died in a matter of hours, since they could not stand the low temperatures and had no time to adapt to this new climatic condition.
On the second day the number of dead humans was in the millions, or could have been counted if someone had dared to leave their homes, which did not happen. Everything was freezing, rivers, seas, trees, food, everything.
Six days had already passed, the temperatures were really unbearable for most of the living species at that time, only a few could withstand the harsh climate.
Many heat-resistant microcellular organisms were frozen, but could later thaw and still be alive, they have the means to do so. Other animals living at great depths, where temperatures have always been below zero, were able to withstand such changes.
This glaciation lasted exactly nineteen days, the beginning of the end of this stage was marked by a progressive increase in temperature, which allowed some survivors to emerge and show themselves.
Everything seems to point to the beginning of a new history on the planet.
And it's the moon and the darkness that accompany this new beginning. Let's see what fate has in store for what we might consider... New humanity?

I'm usually not much into fiction. I don't even know why did I read your post. I guess this title worked a bit like a clickbait :)
