Dear Monkeys, Please Don't Come on Weekends!

My father has to work so hard to protect his favorite banana harvest from monkeys. Even though he tried so hard each time we receive a damaged harvest due to the monkey's attack. Sometimes they remain us empty spine of the banana bunch.

We cover bunches of bananas with bags when they are young. But if there is any single patch on bags, monkeys put their hands in. Even though bananas are raw, they destroy the whole. Sometimes we use firecrackers to make them afraid. But still, they come on the next day as usual.

Monkeys eat papaya leaves. Once I wrote this article on Why Monkeys Eat Papaya Leaves?. Thankful to monkeys there are no Papaya trees in our garden anymore.

When new avocado leaves are growing, monkeys consume the stem of avocado leaves. They just eat the stem and drop leaves down. So the entire tree gets damage. Not only that, they eat flowers. Specially they eat Kadupul buds (Orchid Cactus) which we consider as a flower of luck.

They damaged our roof once. Even though other members of our house hate monkeys, I really like to wave hands to them :). They sometimes don't even move when I shout. Monkeys destroyed my beloved passion fruit vine. But comparing to Rilava (brown monkeys) , gray monkeys are less harmless. Once we visited mihinthale and brown monkeys didn't let any of us carry lotus flowers to the temple. They suddenly jump to humans and grab the flowers which we take to offer to the temple. They are very dangerous too.

Anyhow, we have to forgive all the creatures of nature for everything. Because we, the human are the worst creation of nature. We harm their properties than they harm our properties!
