The best place I've ever visited | Steem Sri Lanka: Contest Series - Week 5 | Holy place.
Hello my friends.
I tell you about one of the beautiful places in Poland.
Holy place
I invite everyone to visit a place surrounded by forest and located in north-eastern Poland, on the edge of the Augustów Primeval Forest.
This place is mysterious and allows you to completely calm down. There is a former temple in it, a place of worship dating back to pagan times. The ancestors of this land had an intuition in finding such metaphysical spaces. They perceived the world differently and were more sensitive to the beauty and peculiarities of nature.
To get to this place you have to walk along forest sandy paths. After reaching the destination, you will see a wooden fence. Behind the wooden fence there is a chapel from 1990, several wooden and stone crosses, cupboard chapels and a large wooden saint.
To one of the wooden crosses, clearly very old, there is a copper plate nailed with the information that the cross was displayed by the converted, baptized Yotvingians from the Skomęta team in 1283, before going to Sambia.
The cross, although burned by the Gentiles and thrown into the river, miraculously survived and still stands today.
Inside the chapel there are many holy pictures, screams left by visitors as a gift for a blessing.
Uroczysko Holy Place is a sacred grove - holy water, the former inhabitants of these lands - the Yotvingians. The Yotvingians were a Baltic people, culturally and linguistically related to the ancestors of today's Lithuanians and Latvians, worshiping the deities of earth, water, fire and heaven.
The river located in this place has magical powers. From time to time it changes its course. It happens that items thrown into the water return to the place from which they were thrown.

As I know Pagan time is way back in history, right?
The wooden structure and that large wooden cross make this place more mysterious and yet attractive.

Yes it's true. This place was classified as a pagan worship place, but with the advent of the Christian era (i tink 13th / 14th century AD in this place), places like this were taken over by the church along with rituals :)
I did not have the courage :) Of course, there is a logical physical explanation for this phenomenon. I will not cheat on it:)
Yeah, this can be true or not. But I'm really not denying those things. Throughout history, we have heard about these things. And we know how religion works. Anyway, I like to read about this kind of mysterious stuff.

There are several ways to find out about this place :)
This place was discovered by my girlfriend on one of the forums and we just visited it last holiday. It was beyond my imagination. The path through the forest is impressive and long. You also have to watch out for a lot snakes.
There are fire protection roads in the forest. Although it is forbidden, people with off-road vehicles will reach it by car. The road must be dry :) And of course the markings and GPS do not work in the forest so it is safer go there by bike or on foot.
