Unreal stuff from RCB | THE FIARY TALE CONTINUES

in Steem Sri Lanka2 months ago

Hello, fellow Cricket Enthusiasts,

Well, we saw some incredible drama from IPL 2024, with RCB being the fourth team to qualify for the Playoffs. Their journey so far in this edition is something extraordinary. After 8 matches they were at the last spot winning only one match, and with a 6-match losing streak.

Who thought at that moment, they could through with a straight flash? Well, they did it in a style. Well, um not a big fan of individual teams or players, but a fan of good Cricket.

In the history of IPL, IPL is one of the most popular teams, with X-factor Kohli throughout, but couldn't lift a trophy. Even with the continuous performance from Kohli, and earlier with Gayle, ABD, they could only become a 3-time finalists.

And this season also, they came up with some lousy balling units, especially releasing good players. And it proved with their start to the tournament, predicting to be eliminated last.

But after their win against SRH, they started to bounce off one by one. Anyway, their fate was scheduled from the last match between Thala's CSK. It was a do-or-die match for both teams to seal their playoff seat. RCB needed not just a win, but a 18-run win/ or to chase with 11 balls remaining, as NRR is the factor.

RCB started the batting and they got a good start, but with the inerruption from the rain it was quite slow one. 42/0 in 6 overs, with the tidy overs from Santner and Theeksana. The pair only gave 48 runs in their 8. But RCB still managed to score 217 runs, with Green, Patidar, and Karthik adding 80 runs in the last 5.

With Gaikwad and Mitchell going out early, Rachin and Rahane carried out a decent going scoring 58/2 off the powerplay. Anyway RCB pulled off the match in the middle overs giving only 71/4 in 9 overs. Jadeja and Dhoni was on the crease with CSK needing 90 off 30 for a win and 72 to reach the playoffs. With the wet ball and these two power hitters it was not easy for the pacers especially. Yash Dayal had to defend 17 runs in the last overs, and he did it for the team.

In the latter matches of RCB, all the players were on form. Will Jacks coming to the side, Rajat Patidar with some fireworks and the ballers Dayal, Karn Sarma, Swapnil Singh, particularly did their bit. Then there is this guy. King Kohli, can't believe his consistency, in every format of the game.

He is the Orange cap holder almost all the time from the start, and now after 14 matches he has scored 708 runs at an average of 64.36 and with a strike rate of 155.60. His strike rate really good in this season and he hold the second spot in both highest number of fours and sixes scoring 59 4s and 37 6s.

It will be lovely to see this man lifting a trophy, after all the achievement she has done.

Until the next time! Enjoy!

Thank you.
Best Regards!

Thank you @patjewell. It's been a while. So, how are the things going on?

Pleasure!
Indeed, it's been some time.
All is well, thank you. Well, that is as far as I am going.
As for the cricket... um, now, that is a different story.
Hopefully, we will do better today.

I trust that you are well.

I hope that you will be giving regular updates during the World Cup. ✍

Yeah, um fine too... Thanks

As for the cricket... um, now, that is a different story.

Don't worry friend.. Wait until your full team arrives. I really hope for Markram and Jansen to back to form. And what about, Tristan Stubbs? A real gem!

I hope that you will be giving regular updates during the World Cup. ✍

I won't miss it fr sure... That's where real cricket is

I'm glad to hear that you are well.

It was not a good evening for us again last night.
What beats me is that Russie as captain, but he was not chosen for the WC squad. How on earth? 🤷

Anyway... only a few more days, and, like you've said, the real action will start.

I wish you an awesome week!
