The best place I've ever visited | Steem Sri Lanka - MEEMURE

Surprised to see my post about the best place I have ever visited in my life? 😁 😆 😅 Lots of friends from different countries have shared their experiences with us. I can't be left out. So, this is my chance. (ps: not an entry 😁)

I am so fortunate to be born on this glamourous Island, Sri Lanka. Falling in love with its beautiful landscape is one of the best things that happened in my life. So, whenever I get a chance I try to explore it.

Three-day vacation in Meemure is the favorite one so far in my traveling life.

It was a day in July 2017 when we were ready for the party. Most of my school friends, in Buttala, were at home those days due to the holidays. So, 13 of us joined it.

It was a long journey from our hometown into the middle of the country. We could hire a travel guide via the internet because it's a real adventure there. You will see it. We planned to camp and cook our food there, so we had to carry all the necessaries.

Before the main destination, we visited another beautiful place.

Sembuwaththa Lake

It is another tourist attraction situated at Elkaduwa in the Matale District of Sri Lanka, near the Campbell's Lane Forest Reserve. Sembuwatta Lake has a great view and it is a man-made lake created from natural spring water. Now it's used to generate electricity for nearby villagers.

We didn't stay for a long time there. Because w had to go to the location before getting dark.

Meemure

Meemure is a village with a population of about 400. It is located near the border between Kandy District and Matale District in the Knuckles Mountain Range. This is literally a village because technology hasn't come to this area that much. So, the ancient teachings of Sri Lanka have been protected here. That's mainly because it's one of the most remote villages in Sri Lanka with the only access via a 14 km route from the town of Loolwatte. There is no cellular service available in the village, but a CDMA telephone service is available. Sometimes, feel sad about the children there, but they are enjoying their lives.

As you can see in the pictures it has a very beautiful landscape. Mountains, springs, rivers, waterfalls, paddy fields, etc. Lakegala mountain which is an icon there has a mysterious history way back from Ravan times. Without a mobile connection, we could live a different life there.

For two days, we spent the night there. With the guidance of the tour guide, we could place the camp in a safe place. The nights were just fun. In front of the bonfire, we made our own food.

Now I'm going to tell you about the fun and adventurous part. I think Sri Lankan friends have watched the movie 'Suriya Arana'. Can you remember the water stream that stream kids used to play. Yeah, that place here.

We can do stream sliding, swimming, jumping in natural water pools. But should be with a guide and safety kits.
