Children are safe at home?
Have you noticed that number of child abuse cases are reported these days. In many cases the alligations connected with mother, father, boyfriend or a close relative.
Every child has a right to be subject to due care of parents. Every child has a right to prevent from being abused or neglected. Many people believe that their children are safe at homes. children are advised to be careful out of the home and when associating strangers.
Oneday I observed the process of calling evidence of a Forensic Medical Witness in a rape case of a little girl by her grand father. First I looked at the accused. I saw an adult who cannot even stand up in the dock properly. Actually I couldn't believe that he has raped a little girl. It's true that I cannot make any judgement on him by his appearance. But he was the type of grandfather that we get sympathetic on the first sight. However, if it was him who did the crime, it is another incident which prove that most of the little flowers are abused by the family members or who are related to them.
The Forensic Doctor read out the statement given by the victim to him when he examined her. I felt unease listenning to the experience of the girl. If it is unease even to listen, how much a victim may suffer when the incident is repeatedly hearing in the court? The victim has to suffer even in the process of achieving justice.
Not only that, the media telecast these type of cases as teledramas. This may lead these incidents become normal in a society. Have you remember the abduction case of Sadeepa Lakshan? In this case the accused has made a confession that he motivated to do the crime by an incident telecasted in media. Therefor media has a huge responsibility in dealing with these type of cases.
Children are very emotional in their mental capacity and they thoroughly expect love and affection. All parents have a responsibility to ensure safety and security of their children.
An appropriate time to discuss the children's safety. The saddest thing is most of the incidents are hidden. Most of the kids never exposed their horrible experiences. You have discussed a wide range of cases.🙏🙏🙏
Yes you are correct. Children are usually run into the hands of their parents when they arein danger. But what if the danger is their parents themselves.
in the name of justice they do this to get the publicity to channels. that is the saddest part of it.

It's really sad to hear such a pathetic stories in our country . Why these politicians and other authorities do not pay more attention towards them? I don't know what's gonna be happen.
Yes, There are Laws. International childright conventions, institutions to protect children. But these incidents show that there is something missing. There is a gap between people's mind and the Laws which are to control people's behavior.

I am a very protective father and grandfather, so I watch out for the people I love with a lot of attention. What is sad to know is that often these young children are abused, not by strangers, but by those who are close to the children. This is why we must not automatically trust anyone with our little flowers; we must insist that everyone has the responsibility to earn our trust, no matter who they are!
well said. Actually I selected this topic because I heard atleast one of this type of news per day, this week. In every news paper there is atleast one of child abuse cases. They are not only rape cases, phisical, verbal,emotional abuse of children or some parents have neglect their children.
