When I saw this news I was so excited. I had to get them...
If you have been a "contributing" members in those subreddits, you should have a lot of tokens already. I just joined them so I have got nothing.

But then somebody gave me one 🤩

but then...

What is "community points"?

Reddit already has their own point/coin system and karma. Why do they need this "community points"?
It's pretty much the same as a current system to measure reputation and stuff.
You can earn community points for making "quality" posts and comments.
What is different is that tokens live on the Ethereum blockchain.
It just sounds "fancy" and "regular" people will have more exposure to cryptocurrency.

Then what?

You can use points to get 💰? No.
You can redeem it for special VIP access to some features, emojis, gifs, and badges.
Very exciting... 😑

I think it is great to see mainstream sites adopting a blockchain technology for their features, but the same time, this implementation will force people to spam more just to get some tokens and creates whales since points have reputations and voting weights.

Also subreddit manias have got tons of points already and reddit newbies don't have anything that creates the haves and the have nots...
Don't forget subreddits have rules like this 👇

So I can't post. I can't comment. I can't contribute.
It feels like steemit/hive lvl 1, all over again... struggle is real 😫
