#club100// Steemit Enagement Challenge ||💖💙||Season2, Week #4 ||💚|| My work life and Steemit

Introduction

Hello everyone on this platform and welcome to week 4 of the season 2 engagement challenge in the Steem Azerbaijan community. It is a great week and the topic for the challenge this week is an eye-opener to most women who strive to manage work life and home at the same time. I am happy with this topic and will be sharing with you all my work life and how it has been tough but I keep moving.

Tell us about your work life, do you like your job?

Before talking about my work life, let me say I am a mother of a 6 years old girl and a 2years old son. That said, I am a human rights defender and a gender-based violence-certified case manager.

Looking at my work life, I do office work at some point, carried out field investigations, carry out training and manage cases of GBV. Most often, I do field investigations and carry out baseline surveys to assess the needs of vulnerable communities.

I am a passionate professional who loves to protect vulnerable women and children in communities. Permit me to say we are living in a conflict area where an armed conflict has been going on for 6 years now. We all know that during conflict situations, women and children are the most affected group as they constantly faced violence from belligerents of the conflict. It is my duty as a human rights defender to protect them.

I carry out sensitization through a local community radio where I talked about the common forms of violence faced by women and girls. I talk about the principles of handling GBV cases, and referral pathways and give room for victims and survivors to speak out because I realized that most of them do not speak out. Speaking out will help you as a survivor/victim to heal faster and not suffer from psychological trauma. Speaking out will help them because we as case managers will be able to support them with legal and psychosocial counseling.

After work, I have my kids to look after, prepare their meals, make sure they eat, assist my little girl with her homework, and put them to sleep. While they sleep, I continue steeming at times I sleep at 3:00 am. It’s tough but earning extra cash for my salary is an added advantage.

Of course, I love doing this because I had suffered severe violence in the past when I was a teenager. So, I use my experience to empower myself and defend the vulnerable groups in my society. I can use any means to preach respect for human rights. Even though as a human rights defender in a conflict zone, we constantly faced challenges from belligerents but I have never given up on anything.

Can you make time at work for Steemit?

I do not have a specific time scheduled to steem while at work. Any time I am chanced is a good time for me to steem. There are some days at work especially when it is not fieldwork, I have much time to steem at work.

Notwithstanding, everything I do on steemit, I use my phone. So this permits me to steem at times while in the field. At times even in a cab, I steem. Using my phone is more flexible even though I use my phone because my laptop is bad.

After my fieldwork, I usually settled down in the office for some days to compile reports and send them to my boss. However, when the reports are demanding and deadlines are approaching, I have to make sure there is no relaxation time because I use my break time to steem.

Could Steemit be your first job? How is your financial situation?

Of course, I will love to take steemit as my first job if votes are guaranteed😂😂. Working on steemit is more flexible for me as a mother because it will make me able to have more time to be with my kids.

Working on steemit is fun as you make new friends across the globe, share ideas and you work with no pressure. There is no one shouting at you or giving you deadlines. Making steemit my first job will just be great but the issue now is the popular slogan that “votes are not guaranteed”.

I got bills to pay, I have a family to take care of and I have my personal needs which all require money. Taking steemit as my first job when votes are not guaranteed, will mean that I will not be able to meet up with these needs.

So, one cannot completely rely on steemit. If not, I will not hesitate to drop my job and Steem on from morning till evening. To be honest, steemit came to me at the time I felt like everything was crashing down. I joined steemit during the COVID-19 pandemic when my office suspended work till further notice. I did not know when the further notice will come to an end. Since then, steemit changed my story for a BetterLife. Today, I lack nothing because with steemit life is less stressful.

What do you need to turn the Steemit platform into your workplace?

Steemit has always been part and parcel of me since I joined the platform. It is my wish one day to turn it into my workplace. I know that time will come soon when I must have to build my own house, and my kids are at the university. At that time, it will be easy for me to turn it into my workplace.

However, I can say that recently, I put in more time into steemit than even my job. My attention is gradually shifting.

To conclude, steemit is a life saver for many households especially in developing communities. Steemit has helped to reduce the gap between the poor and the rich and I wish that we spread the good news to all local communities where poverty is ravishing most lives. What I have achieved on steemit within the period I have been on the platform is far better than what I have achieved at my workplace for years.

Permit me invite @ijebest, @tangwe-rene and @saxopedia to share with us how they managed their workload with steemit.

Sort:

You have a great job sis, you are doing a great job and helping humanity by defending and protecting venerable women, many women had suffers in silence because they have no one to open up to.

Steemit has been of great help to many people including myself and I also wish to make Steemit my work place and first job but I have to be much financially stable than I am now.

Thank you for sharing

many women had suffers in silence because they have no one to open up to.

You are right and that is why I came up with the community radio program “let’s speakout” encouraging them to speak and get support. Even though most of them don’t speak because they are afraid of stigmatisation from host communities and more violence from perpetrators.

Steemit is indeed the best but we can only make it our workplace when we are financially stabled. Like I said we all got bills to pay.

You coming up with community radio program is good, at least that will tell them that there is someone out there who cares about them.

Exactly, it kind of boost their morals to speak out. Thanks for engaging.

With your young children and your job it's very hard to see where you get time to steem. Only when I'm with my nieces they seem to take up all my time.

You are a super woman. We go celebrate you with El vino 😂

I beg celebrate me 😂😂😂😂. I always say this I have time and not time having me. So, I create time to do whatever thing I love to do. Steemit is one of the things I love to do, I always create time to steem.

I'll need to take my pen and book and come for time management classes 😁

😂😂😂😂😂. There is one challenge post I made that was on time management. My dear, I create time to do my things I love doing. I do not have a specific routine but what I do is that each time I am chanced to do something, I do not procrastinate, but rather do it immediately. If I think of creating a post and I am chanced at that moment, I just do it. At times even on bed in deep sleep, I remembered I was to create content, I immediately wake up from that dream and create the content. I have a crazy 😜😜 way of doing things.

Wonderful 😂
I cannot do like you ooo 😂
I better find other means
Ya own is super human way

😂😂😂😂😂 I learn the hard way lol.

Wow ooooo, my good friend @chant hahaha, so you are a human right activist? Yes I have got a lawyer friend oooo, this is exciting to me, it's a sensitive job but God will continue to defend you and your family, I love this news, keep it up and keep steeming high and higher the sky is your starting point.!!!. Take care, friend!!🌹😍.

Thank you my friend for the encouraging words. We will Steem on to the moon 💃🏼💃🏼.

Yes ooo we are going higher 💃💃💃

I am a mother of a 6 years old girl and a 2years old son. That said, I am a human rights defender and a gender-based violence-certified case manager.

Just wow. So you have two great jobs being mother of two and the human right defender that is so great. It's nice to know you can do all this and still be very active on Steemit.

Of course, I will love to take steemit as my first job if votes are guaranteed😂😂

You made a good point here if votes were guaranteed we will all abandon our job. But then even on the engagement challenge no upvotes I guaranteed so it makes it difficult.

Into the lovely post and I wish you luck in the contest

Thank you for wishing me well.

Thank you for the timely review @revan746

As a case manager, you would have come across many cases that are unpleasant to the hear, women and children are the most vulnerable in our world, I wonder how you handle your own trauma, if listening to cases often that saddens the heart, I plan to ask someone in such field since you are here I see it fit to render my thoughts to you, with several disheartened cases how do you cope emotionally,? Do you see a doctor or you are that string that you don't give in to these emotions.

I remember a case in my environment of a woman being raped and videoed, it went viral in my community but after watching the video for 5 secs I couldn't finish watching it because I could not stand it and it was embedded in my heart for weeks until I got over it, although justice was served thanks to a woman like you who took up the case and seek justice for the victim. But still, I wonder how it would have been for me if I am to treat such many cases and different ones, as you have done in previous year.

I hope you understand me .
greetings and blessing

First, I will like you to know that handling cases as such, you are not supposed to show emotions because it might weakened you to the extent that you might ended up worsening the survivors situation. There are instances they will cry for hours but we considered that as part of the healing process. Allow her to cry and even help her with tissue to clean her face. Do not stop her from crying.

Secondly, you have to derive a survivor centred approach. That is do not give her solutions but rather asked her what she thinks will help her.

Your emotions should not be considered especially when you are still listening to one side of the story with regards to other forms of violence. With rape, there is no reason that justify rape. Rape is an intentional act and should be punished.

Thank you for this engagement.

Interesting, you are good at what you do
I’d break in two cases lol

Will surely appreciate your comment

Thank you for appreciating my work.

You are welcome

You have said well, you really doing a great work by saving humanity. Steemit will be every man's dream if vote was guarantee but is till helping in one way

Yes of course, as I said in my post, steemit is a lifesaver because it has helped to reduce the gap between the poor and the rich. Thanks for visiting my post.

I like your choice of job and I feel connected to your passion for helping the community. There is always joy when you make someone happy or smile through a small gesture. I can imagine the number of ladies you have helped from GBV and people living with disabilities. They will always remain grateful to you. Courage to continue doing what you love

Steemit has really helped us during this period and the prayer now is to get more than what is gotten now.

Thanks for sharing with us

Thank you for the encouragements.

Of course, I love doing this because I had suffered severe violence in the past when I was a teenager. So, I use my experience to empower myself and defend the vulnerable groups in my society.

Hmm very sorry you had to go through all that as a child and it’s inspiring you’re using it as motivation to help others. I don’t know what others get from disrespecting the rights of women and children especially but it’s great to see they have someone like you fighting for them.

Thank you for your good works.

Thanks for your encouraging words. With encouragement as such, I will not relent fighting for the rights of the vulnerable groups in the society.

I will not relent fighting for the rights of the vulnerable groups in the society.

Yes please do not stop. People like you make the world a better place.

Thank you 🙏🏽
