Introduction

Hello to my friends in the Azerbaïdjan 🇦🇿 community, it’s a pleasure for me to participate in this week 1 season 2 engagement contest. This contest will enable us to know some of the beautiful tourist sites in different countries in the world.

Today, I want to become a travel manager and I hope anyone that reads through my entry post, will not give a second thought to visiting this region. I will be talking about Limbe, in the South West Region of Cameroon. It is known as the “town of friendship” because everyone is welcome to enjoy the beautiful tourist sites in Limbe. Permit me to share with you the religion, climate, cuisine, and socio-economic circumstances surrounding the town of friendship.

Religion Practiced in Limbe

The predominant religion practiced in Limbe-Cameroon is Christianity, with Protestants churches, Roman Catholic being the majority, and Pentecostal churches. There is also a minority of Muslim faithful, coupled with traditionalists.

However, Cameroon is a state of law, where everyone has the right to practice the religion that best fits their interest so far it’s not tampering with the laws of the land. Limbe is not different, as most religions are practiced.

Climate of Limbe

Limbe just like other cities in Cameroon has two major seasons. The dry season and the rainy season. During the rainy season, temperatures are rarely below 71°F but vary to 73°F. In the dry season, temperatures are high to about 88°F, at times to 91°F.

The periods January to April experienced high temperatures due to the dry season with cloudy weather conditions but no rain. The best weather conditions to visit Limbe for those who are not friendly with heat are July and August. During this period, temperatures are moderate and good for those who do not like high temperatures.

Socio-economic situation of Limbe

Its location at the backdrop of mount Fako, with black sand, and at a coastal area accounts for the numerous beach sites in Limbe. For instance the Sème beach, Limbe down beach, ALCEFA beach, etc.

It has a wildlife reserved center whereby different species of animals are kept and protected for future generations. There are several endangered species in this reserve center such as chimpanzees, Gorillas, Crocodiles, Snakes, etc. This is a good place where you can take your kids there to experience firsthand live animals.

where you can find varieties of flowers, and trees. The green scenery of the garden is just perfect for occasions such as weddings, outdoor parties, hangouts with friends, etc. The security there is guaranteed since it is controlled by the state.

is in this town of friendship. This company manages rubber plantations, banana plantations, palm tree plantations, pawpaw plantations, and pineapple plantations in Cameroon.

The city council annually organized a cultural festival whereby traditional dances are performed, there is a display of the various traditional meals, fashion exhibitions, canoe races, etc. This attracts visitors all over the world to witness this festival.

Limbe cuisine

Limbe due to its coastal nature has a diversity of ethnic groups with different dishes. The fertile volcanic soil favors the growth of varieties of food crops and vegetables. These accounts for the variety of restaurants and food stores in the city. Since it is a town of friendship, all types of dishes are prepared in restaurants and homes.

Some of the dishes one can find in both restaurants and homes included but were not limited to :

with huckleberry is locally called as “njama njama”. The huckleberry is prepared with fresh tomatoes, onions, chicken or beef, or fish.

, which can either be chicken or beef, seasoned and roasted, served with onions and some chili. When you eat this accompanied with a bottle of cold brasseries drink, then you will know that Limbe in deed is friendly with your stomach😋😋.

which is one of the native dishes in Limbe is prepared in almost all houses and restaurants.

😋😋. This is one of my favorite and I can eat it all day and will still crave more. It is grated cocoyam, mixed with palm oil, dry fish, crayfish, etc, and well cooked. The canda is cow skin, roasted, washed, and cooked, fried with fresh tomatoes.

There is equally fried rice served with vegetable salad.

Conclusively, Limbe is a dream town in Cameroon for anyone who visits Cameroon or lives in Cameroon without having a taste of life in Limbe needs to rethink this summer holiday. This is the right time to visit Limbe as the temperature will be good. I cannot mention all the dishes and ingredients used because there is practically no dish that is not prepared in restaurants here.
