Argentina 3 Ecuador 0 No fue una victoria fácil / Not an easy win

Ha sido un primer tiempo muy interesante: Argentina ha intentado dominar el juego y atacar, pero Ecuador salió decidido a no dejarse avasallar ni meter en su propia área.

Así, salió un tiempo parejo y con juego fuerte, con chances para ambos equipos. Valencia tuvo las mejores chances con su juego aéreo, mientras que Argentina tuvo a Messi, Martínez y González con las suyas, y fue Messi con dos pases gol en la misma jugada quien fue el factor clave para que De Paul termine desequilibrando el marcador en favor de Argentina.

Luego, en el segundo tiempo, Ecuador salió buscar el empate y, como viene sucediendo, Argentina fue empujada o se dejó empujar al principio; posteriormente sí, ya no era, claramente, una cuestión de voluntad de Argentina, sino que realmente no podía salir, pero entonces el equipo mejoró mucho con las entradas de Guido Rodríguez y Di María, primero, y Tagliafico después, que mejoraron al mismo tiempo la defensa y las posibilidades de contraatacar. Finalmente, tras un error individual de un defensor ecuatoriano antes la presión de Di María, Messi brindó su segunda asistencia, ahora para Lautaro Martínez, dando tranquilidad a la albiceleste, y ya cerca del final, el tiro de gracia con un gol de tiro libre del diez argentino.

En conclusión, no fue un partido fácil para el vencedor a pesar de la diferencia de tres goles; Ecuador hizo un gran partido y podría haber anotado con más eficacia. Ahora, se viene Colombia para los argentinos, un rival con más jerarquía individual que Ecuador. Y en mi opinión, Argentina mejoraría un poco si entrara Exequiel Palacios por Lo Celso, dado que este último, sin jugar mal, tampoco termina de jugar decididamente bien, y al ser Palacios diestro eso podría ayudar a hacer mejores combinaciones por el lado izquierdo dado que ya hay dos zurdos por allí, Acuña y González.

Finally, following and individual mistake by an Ecuadorian defender, Messi was able to give another assistance, now to Lautaro Martínez, whose goal brought calm, and, near the end, a free kick by the Argentinian ten sealed their victory.

In conclusion, this wasn’t an easy win for Argentina despite the goal difference; Ecuador made a great game and they could have scored if they had been a little more accurate in the definition zone. Now, it comes Colombia, a team with higher level players than Ecuador. And it is my opinion that Argentina would improve a little if Exequiel Palacios would come in as an opener instead of Lo Celso, whom, despite not playing badly, he doesn’t play too good either, and as Palacios would be a right footed playing as a left midfielder, being in that section of the field two lefties already (Acuña and González), that might help to produce better combinations.
