Introduction

I find it to be very important for members of this community to go through such an exercise with titled membership validation. Reading through the guidelines for the post, I believe and hope that this exercise is going to change the whole face of the community “world of football”. I am saying this because there is a lot of things that will be learnt in the process of going through this exercise such as content etiquette, copyright-abuse, plagiarism, citations just to mention few which will go a very long way to improve the post we share here in this community and even to the larger extent every community on steemit.

World of football a community I joined on the very first day I joined steemit has been of great help to me. I will therefore entreat everyone to join the community and try to complete the membership validation post because there are greater things ahead in this community and steemit at large. I am very happy, delighted and grateful to present my membership validation post.

What posts do you intend to create in this community?

As a lover of the game of football in a football community, it is quite obvious I would be posting matters relating to football. To be more specific I would be sharing in the community; history of same football legends, information on great transfers when the transfer windows are open, pre-match and post-match analysis of some football games, trends in the football world, injuries of some players and when they are to report back to the field, some memorable moments in the game, the lifestyle of some grate players and what they do during their leisure time, the most payed player and the least payed player and others.

I would also continue to participate in contest that are been organize in the community, the immediate post I would want to share is the after-math of the Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho. I believe there are great things I would want to share that would make the community a success and steemit as a whole.

What do you understand by the term content etiquette?

The codes or rules that governs a particular thing either been it audio, video, images, document etc that prevents anybody from using it without referencing or acknowledging the owner. It is very important that everyone using someone’s knowledge or idea acknowledges the owner in order not to go contrary to this rules. Everyone has a property and no one has the right to take other peoples property as their own.

What is plagiarism and how do you intend to refrain from this act?

Plagiarism simply means presenting someone else work either been it audio, video, image etc as your own. In doing this the plagiarist do not acknowledge the original owner of the work but intentionally or unintentionally ignore that as if he or she is the sole owner of the work. Plagiarism comes in many forms which has been descried by @edmund.nef in his achievement post. Because it comes in many forms there are ways to desist from it. Below are few things I will do to refrain from plagiarism;

I will be using copy-right free images; I will try my possible best to refrain from the act of plagiarism by using copy-right free images mostly from the cite given by @njaywan in his post and topmost of it is using my my own images taken with my phone and designs.

I will ensure I do Citation; I will do my possible best to cite all sources I will take any information from which is a means of acknowledging other peoples work and making others know that I am not the original source of the information.

I will also be Paraphrasing; I will do everything within my power to present what I understand from reading a post or article and not presenting what I read.

What do you understand by copyright-abuse?

As found in Ecclesiastics in the holy book “the bible”, nothing is new under the sun. It is therefore possible that what we think about doing has already been done by someone, it is therefore not a crime to take a look at someone’s work and gain knowledge from it but it is a crime to present that work without given credits to the owner. Copyright-abuse is therefore the use of any form of a material that has an owner without seeking permission from the owner.

Where can you find copyright-free images for your posts?

According to the post by @njaywan, there are different sites to obtain copyright free images. As a football fan and a member of the football community, it is therefore important to note these sites which include;

How do you properly cite an image or post. Show the license details as well.

The following are the steps to fellow to properly cite an image source that is copyright free with it license details.

Open your browser and search for the image you want. In this post I will be searching for Manchester United (Man u). After searching select the image section as shown below.

select the button shown in the picture below.

scroll to the left side and select the usage right as shown below

From the two options that appears, select the creative common licenses

After selecting most of the images that appear here are all licenses free. You then make a selection of the image of your choice by clicking on it. In this case I will be selecting the image on the immediate right as shown below.

Long press on any part of the image for the the download button to appear.

Click on the download button for the image to be saved in your gallery.

It is very important to note this steps, click on the tab as shown below for the link of the image to be provided. This link is what will be used to reference the image in-terms of citing the source.

Then link is then copied by clicking on the copy symbol that appears after selecting the tab as shown below.

For the licenses details, click on the licenses details provided below the image as shown below.

This is an indication that the image is free and it is also copyright free.

To get the link for the licenses details, click on the tab as shown below

Now that we know how to get both the image and licenses details for copyright free images, the next thing is how to cite this image with the link copied in step 9 and give the licenses details from the link copied in step12 respectively.

Citing the source and licenses details; In doing this, the link copied from step 9 and step 12 which shows the image source and licenses details respectively are pasted in a bracket multiplying a square bracket with source or licenses details written in it.

For the source of the image, just past the link copied in step 9 at the place indicated as link

For the licenses details, just past the link copied in step 12 at the place written as link.

NOTE: Do not leave space in between the bracket and square bracket

What is the consequence of plagiarism and copyright abuse in this community?

Consequences of plagiarism and copyright abuse in this community has been stated clearly in the post by @njaywan with titled newly implemented disciplinary actions that anyone found guilty will be banned from the community, placed on the mute status and finally that person can’t share any information in the community.

Include a photo of yourself holding a sheet that has ; @yourusername, post date and steemit world of football

Conclusion

I strongly believe that this membership validation post will go a very long way to help the community grow and see quality content with plagiarism free and with no copy-right abuse. I also hope that all members will fellow this protocols to avoid either been banned or muted.

I am well aware of the rules of this community as well as the norms of steemit and will abide by them at all times.
