Weekly Contest || Papaya ( Carica Papaya) and Its Benefits

Greetings to my fellow members of steem health style community. It's my first time posting here and I hope I'm welcome. I am happy to take part in the first contest in this community organized by @abu78 which is to share our different ideas on varieties of plant/tree and its benefits to human kind. I will be sharing my idea on Papaya (Carica Papaya) tree and its importance.

Brief Description of Papaya / PawpawTreee

This plant is known as Papaya or Pawpaw tree and it up to 8 metres tall (not all species), it is not also a woody tree. This plant can be found in Nigeria, India, Malaysia, West Africa and some other countries in tropical American as well. The tree is also known by its deeply lobed leaves. They consist of both male and female species. Its fruits are cultivated throughout the tropical area and also in the warmest part of the subtropics. Its fruits also have some sweet taste with an agreeable musky tang. The ripe fruit can be eaten like that or can be used for salad, juice, pie and sherbets. Papaya tree grows very fast and produce bountifully before the end of first year.

The Importance of Papaya Plant

Papaya (pawpaw) fruit / leaf has greater levels of antioxidants vitamin A, C and E. The high levels of this antioxidants reduces the risk of cholesterol and also hinders the oxidation of cholesterol because of the vitamin C content in the fruits which in turn makes the immune system boost by letting the body to be able to fight away bacterial and other viral sickness.
The fruit is also good in fast process of digestion. This plant is loaded with so much nutritional value which is of great benefits to our health.

The Uses of Papaya Plant

This plant is well known in the world and can be used in different ways for different purposes. All its parts are useful like; the fruit, seed, leaf and tree. I will really focus on the leaves and fruits because I can boldly attest to benefits that comes with them. Its leaves are used in treating symptoms that are related to dengue fever, reduction of inflammation, hinders cancer, good for skin and hair care and also used for blood sugar control.

The leaves are not usually used directly but it is being consumed as tea and juice after going through the process of extraction. Its fruits are used as food because of the positive health benefits that it has.

Papaya (pawpaw) has a lot of health benefits and if possible, it's okay to eat it everyday because it will keep infection/ sickness away. Thank you!
