Hello, and salutations to each and every STEEM Indonesian. I hope that everyone is enjoying themselves and their families and that everything is going well. Savour every second of the current week, and don't forget about the stunning challenge on Steemit. I'm thrilled to be taking on this task. I hope this gets tested by everyone.

India is a nation that celebrates diversity, culture and heritage. Yet, the nation has had a long battle with the problem of waste disposal. India is supporting various methods of waste management. However, the government of India has taken many initiatives yet there is no end in sight for this problem. In this regard, based on the engagement criteria I would like to explore several aspects on waste management in India and its impact upon the environment and people.

When I observe someone throwing garbage recklessly, of course, being angry and pissed off comes in my case naturally, I don't know why. But think one thing, the Earth is not a dust bin for throwing anything. To prevent people from throwing away rubbish indiscriminately in India, the government executed a few laws and rules. The solid waste management (SWM) Rules which were introduced by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) in 2016 recognized the growing magnitude of waste management challenges that had buried the nation.

These rules obsoleted Municipal Solid Waste (Management and Handling) Rules which were in the books for near about 16 years. The SWM rules act as a considerable factor to be involved in the identification and integration of the informal sector (waste pickers) into the waste management process for the first time. The regulations also fine individuals who are caught littering around public areas. Fine amount is also dictated by the degree of the offense.

The problem of waste management is an issue for most urban local bodies or areas (ULB) in India, where urbanization, industrialization and economic progress have led to heavy increase in the generation of MSW per person. One of the major challenges that cities with high density population have in effective SWM.

India is a culturally diverse country with many different religious groups, cultures, and traditions which limit attaining sustainable development under fast population rates growth and higher standards in living. Although there has been development in social, economic and even environmental aspects of the country; SWM systems have remained almost unchanged. Overall, the informal sector plays a crucial role in restraint of residual waste with about 90 percent was dumped compared to proper land-filling that should be done through right recycling technique.

It is possible to use waste as a source of increased income in India. there is so many possible ways to try. With regards to the informal sector, it is a large player in converting wastes into value. Waste pickers recover recyclable materials out of wastes and sell them to processing industries. This offers them an opportunity to earn a living and also help in minimization of the waste that lands into landfills.

There are so many benefits for the wastes that generate positive money in India. For instance, organic waste can be turned into compost, which serves a fine fertilizer in the agricultural field. This not only serves the purpose of reducing the volume of junk thrown into garbage dumps but also assists in restoring fertility to the soil also make tension-free Earth.

Proper management of household garbage is a prerequisite as everyone must ensure that they do not harm the environment due to waste, My humble request to everyone. The source partition of household waste is one of the best ways to deal with this garbage. This entails segregating waste into classes including biodegradable waste, non-biodegradable, hazardous, and toxic wastes Biodegradable waste composting (also referred to as organic waste) has the capability of turning into manure after some time, while non-biodegradable wastes can be recycled.

Waste posing the risk should be disposed of in a very controlled way to avoid any contamination. India’s government has also by various initiatives promoted source-based waste separation. I hope and assure Cleanliness and hygiene are the prime activity for any country; The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan that was launched in 2014 aims at spreading sanitation and hygiene through the nation.

There is a potential that large volume of waste accumulating can influence comfort in the neighbouring countries. For instance, the Ghazipur landfill in Delhi India is one of the biggest dump sites on Earth. It began operations in 1984 and has attained its peak capacity. The landfill is now a mountain, which is 65 meters high and over 70 acres wide. The surrounding people suffer from landfill, which is a leading risk to their health.

The landfill has caused respiratory troubles, skin diseases and other chronic health conditions due to emission of toxic gases. In addition, the landfill has turned into a replicator of mosquitoes and other insects which spread diseases. Whether it gets fired up accidentally or unpredictably, it may spread a lot of poisoned smoke into the atmosphere. It must be a serious issue for all the people who reside in the same country or in a nearby country.

My native place, Kerala, a state in India, has taken diverse measures towards the problems of waste management. The KSWMP of Kerala addresses the above-mentioned issues with its integrated solution for solid waste management in the urban local bodies in Kerala. The project seeks to improve solid waste management issues that are caused by urban local bodies.

With the cooperation of World Bank and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, in 93 urban local bodies in Kerala Rs 2400 crore have been used for implementing this project. This project is an extension of the already continuous waste management operation in the municipalities of the state. The project focuses on strengthening institutional and service delivery for solid waste management systems in urban local bodies. I think, this one is very effective procedure.

In summary, waste handling is one of the main problems in India. The government has made a number of measures in this respect, but is far from over. Waste can also be used to generate more income, and house waste management is vital in the right environment. Pilling up of massive amount of trash is able to impact the well-being of individuals living in bordering nations.

It is the responsibility of everyone to ensure that their waste does not stay behind and proper waste disposal must be practiced by all in order for an environment cleaner, healthier and better. Kerala has taken several initiatives concerning the issue of waste management, and the KSWMP is a holistic solid waste management program addressed to urban local bodies in Kerala.

In a same vein, I gladly welcome my friends to participate in this challenge. @annydee01, @yoelmo26, @lucasxxx.

You are from India and you are telling about your country that there is a possibility to generate income in your country from waste materials so it is a plus point for your economy I wish you success

Of course, bro, there are a lot of possibilities to make income from waste. But the government is taking less effort, and the people who reside in India are not aware of it, not taking the proper precautions, and not doing the proper waste management. Thank you so much, bro.
