My Prefer Ways of Reading : Contestant's Application Oadissin

I am grateful to the organizer of this contest. On Steemit, content producers have the freedom to express their views on different topics which today is related to the choice of reading techniques that keep appearing over the years.

I personally read a lot on my smartphone, but after a moment of reflection I think that there are details about my reading experience I would like to share.

I. The reason I chose to read from a Book

I prefer reading from a traditional book over reading from my phone. There are a few reasons why I prefer a traditional book.

Firstly, when I read from a traditional book I feel more connected to the words. It's an intimate experience that I don't get from reading a book on my phone. I can feel the pages, smell the book, and find comfort in the tactile sensation of turning the pages. I find that when I read from a traditional book I can focus on the words more easily and get lost in the story.

Secondly, when I read from a traditional book I don't have to worry about distractions. There are no notifications, emails, or texts to pull me away from the book. I can just focus on the story and immerse myself in the characters and the plot.

Finally, traditional books don't require a battery or electricity. This means I can read wherever I am, whether I'm at home, in the park, or on vacation. It also means I don't have to worry about my battery dying in the middle of a book.

For these three reasons, I prefer reading from a traditional book over reading from my phone. I find that I can focus better and I'm not distracted by all the electronic interference on a smartphone.

II. Things that I like to do before and after reading

Before reading, it is always helpful to set a goal. This could be to understand an idea more deeply or to simply read for pleasure. Taking a few moments to clear my mind and focus my thoughts helps me read more effectively. Having a specific spot to read in also plays a key role in the success of my reading section. In addition, I try to ensure the area is comfortable, well-lit, and free of distractions.

After reading, I find it essential to take the time to reflect on the information absorbed from the book. I tend to find connections between what I have read and how it relates to other topics or ideas. Also, I often summarize the information I have read, so I can remember it for later. In fact, taking notes is beneficial for future reference. Lastly, my curiosity leads me to question how the book's contents have impacted me or how I can use it in the future.

III. The importance of reading; when and the circumstance

I got attracted to reading multiple books when I was in high school. I was in the library looking for books to read, and noticed that the books were about topics that I had never heard of before "programming language". I was intrigued to learn more about them. As I read more, I found that I was able to remember more information than before, and my understanding of the world around me increased. Reading also helped me to think more critically, as I was able to analyze the different problem-solving technics presented in the books. Besides, I noticed that I was able to express myself better, as reading helped to expand my vocabulary. All of these benefits made me realize that reading was an invaluable tool that could help me to become a better learner.

IV. What was the book you read in the least amount of time?

The book I read in the least amount of time was called "A Short History of Nearly Everything" by Bill Bryson. It covered the history of science, from the big bang to the present day, in an easy-to-read, conversational style. It was an enjoyable read, full of fascinating stories and information about the discoveries that have shaped our world.

Personally, I find that reading a physical book provides a more immersive, enjoyable experience than reading on a smartphone. I have to mention that I read on a smartphone only as I conduct my daily activity online. I often order interesting books in the paper version from my smartphone. The tactile sensation of turning pages, the visual appeal of a book cover, and the ability to make notes in the margins are all advantages of reading a book.
