🧭 Map Story 📖
Part I
It's approaching 3am and you've been rudely awakened by what sounds like a Chainsaw. You'd already had a ruff night - despite the cotton sheets feeling comfortable, the wooden bed frame creaked with every movement.
Last Wednesday, you knew that you had this week off and unsure what to do with yourself, yuo opened what's currently your favourite pasttime - The Steemit Quiz. The latest question piqued your interest and enjoying the novelty, you were inspired and decided to book a night here.
"What the f...?" you mutter as you slowly open your eyes... "I can't remember seeing this in the brochure... Why's somebody using a Chainsaw so early??"
You open the curtains but all you see is a ridiculously large Fire Hydrant. "What's that all about?" you ask yourself. "Art?"
Question 1: Where are you?
✅ The Dog Bark Park Inn in Cottonwood, Idaho - @pennsif (Solo)
Reason: "Last Wednesday... The Steemit Quiz. The latest question piqued your interest..." leads to the answer to this question.
Other Clues: "The time 3am was accurate for Iadho", "Ruff night", "cotton sheets... wooden bed frame" (Cottonwood), "large Fire Hydrant", "...bitch about it... ... hounding you..."
Question 2: Who is using the Chainsaw?
✅ Dennis Sullivan - @pennsif (Solo)
Reason: On their website, it states that: "Dennis, a self-taught chainsaw artist, has been carving for over forty years"
The Chainsaw's still going and it's just after 4am now. You don't want to bitch about it, but it's been hounding you for over an hour now.
The Dog Bark Park Inn in Cottonwood, Idaho
Dennis Sullivan and/or Frances Conklin - owners/artists
✅
You should be able to identify which one.
Your mention of bitch (female), would lean towards Frances - but they have apparently both now retired.
I went with Dennis on the basis that he is "a self-taught chainsaw artist". Whilst Frances joined him and also produced "folk-art style wooden carvings", her use of a chainsaw is surmised rather than explicitly stated.
Since it's clear that you've found the source that I was using, I'm happy enough 🙂
I did initially lean towards Dennis - but I thought it might be deemed sexist to assume male dominance 🙂
The use of "bitch" and "hounding" were hinting towards the Dog Bark Inn, rather than its owners 🙂
🙂
Tupper Lake, NY
The participants of the Tupper Lake Chainsaw Carving Competition are making a lot of noise.
👎 You're in the correct country but it's a very long drive from there! I also think you're a bit early for that Competition - that's happening in July.
