Hello, fashionistas in the building …. The steem fashion and style contest is here again and this time edition is about “old school fashion vs new school fashion”…
I know very well, you have been in a situation where you have had to struggle within yourself between classic old school fashion and the current trending style, which one is more beautiful???
Well, I’ll advise you take a chair and relax, as we deliberate on this two different schools.
But I’ll be inviting @nesydahlia, @unyime23 and @bossj23 to give their own opinion as well..😊😊

Old Fashion, Or New Fashion, which one is more better according to you?
We can’t deny the fact that fashion is constantly changing and evolving as new designers and technology comes into the market every season because what we’re wearing now, give it few years, it will be outdated.
But any day, any time I’ll always choose new school to old school. Besides I’m still young, you don’t expect me dressing like my grandpa… (both laughing)…
The current fashion designers are more technical and I will say more experimental. I.e they think outside the box and with the advent of improved machines and technology, trending designs this days are always more daring.
Going through some of my old pictures on Facebook, I kept wondering, what was I thinking when I wore such a big Jacket, big trouser and big shoes… then I was feeling like “Notorious B.I.G” in the middle of two girls..😂😂 it was the trending design those days. Funny enough, I still have the big jacket just lying down in my wardrobe because I have sentimental attachment to the clothes. It reminds me of my end of year party, 2006. My last day in secondary school.
Do you wear old fashioned outfits or new fashion's?
Like I said earlier, I am more of the new fashion. I wear more of our African attire and I also sew. I picked up sewing 2021. I wasn’t working then, i just needed a vocational skill. That was how I became a fashion designer. The plan was starting up a business with it but I got a job and that’s how I kept sewing on pending but i still sew for myself.
Some of the new school fashion outfits I’ve sewed for myself are displayed below.

Back then my favorite fashion designer then was Tommy Hilfiger and timberland designer shoes. But can you guess what have stolen the spotlight??? Senator and Ankara fashion designers. These materials are like the superhero of Nigeria fashion. Whether it's a casual day out or a cultural celebration, senator clothes and Ankara is always my favorite clothes for that extra swag.
Well, there was someone behind my love for this trending outfit. A fashion designer I love so much, ”Mr redefined clothings”. Trust me, when I tell you, he is very good at what he does. Whether it is ready to wear clothes or native attire, he got you covered. He also happens to be my boss. I learnt how to sew under his tutelage

In conclusion fashions keeps evolving and a reflection of our self. So, whether you are old school or new school fashionista, I will suggest, we embrace the both of them because fashion is a celebration of personal expression.
I'll let you in on a secret: the greatest achievement of fashion designers is to create the illusion that they are constantly creating something new. In reality, everything, absolutely everything, has been there before! It's recombined and called something else and bang - new fashion.
A demand is created where there should actually be no demand. When such dictates come to an end and everyone simply wears what they like, what makes them feel good and self-confident, then we really will have learnt something.
You are very right on this one.. because I remember one of my dad’s old pix were a particular trouser he wore in the 70’s became the reigning trouser for ladies in this our current generation..
That's what I mean! And you can put a pocket here or a latch there, you can keep the button round or oval, choose between zip and Velcro fasteners... Yes, there are many possibilities. You can be original, tasteful and stylish. Just not: new ;-))
You seem to know a lot about fashion… do you sew as well??
Ah, you'll laugh... I used to sew myself. Less for fun, more because I didn't fit into the usual clothing sizes (too tall and too thin, but broad shoulders...) and because I prefer organic fabrics to synthetics. So it was a means to an end. And my style is simple and straightforward anyway.
Nowadays, there's everything I need. The most I'll do is have it customised...

Buena forma de escribir esta publicación, también me reí cuando dijo que no vestía como su abuelo y es verdad por lo menos a mí no me gustaría vestir como mi abuelo pero hay ropas de la moda vieja que podemos usar todavía.
Pero es verdad con la actualidad es bueno que los jóvenes adopten parte de la moda nueva para que se diviertan .

La verdad es que podemos ver muchos cambios cuando revisamos nuestras fotos del pasado ver la manera en que vestíamos antes y ahora a veces nos da algo de pena o risa lo que pasa es que estábamos adaptándonos a la moda del momento.
Yo también siempre he querido poder hacer mi propia ropa aunque no he estudiado para lograrlo he aprendido de algunas de las personas que han cosido mis prendas ,por eso a veces hago algunas sencillas y a mi gusto esto tiene una gran ventaja ya que la ropa quedará hecha a tu medida sin detalles sobre todo si eres exigente quedarás complacido, porque cuidarás los detalles de cada prenda.
No queremos vernos anticuados usando ropa antigua sin embargo podemos combinar ambas tendencias de lo nuevo y lo viejo para crear un outfit original que refleje nuestra propia personalidad y estilo.
