The Debate (no.40); Comedy is a cheat code(your therapist would thank you)
Before now, I don't watch comedy or drama I watch only action movies , cos it helps with my mind especially when I'm down. It gives me a kind of energy to fight back and stay strong. I don't know where it comes from but it does.
For example John Wick, the movie triggers you and makes you wonder why everyone hates him and why they all want him dead in the season 3, but then in the season 1 he was just a regular man that wanted to live his life with his wife , but he lost her to cancer.
He went back to being a regular person where he was bullied by his ex bosses son and he retaliated which was where all his problem started.
I felt like action movies are not always emotional because I don't like things messing with my emotions. As an emotional person, things gets to me so easily, so I stay away from them.
Then I get easily captivated by movies like; Melin, Umbrella university and Avata. movies about superheroes with powers and all, cos it's not real it's just a fiction and it takes my mind off many things like studies for a while.
I get too serious most times so I try to put myself in a situation that's not real so I could feel better, which is not right somehow, but I hope it was not a mental health issue.
My journey into the comedy word start on One faithful day.
I fell In love with comedy through a movie I thought was an action movie.
The police Academy.
Once upon a time, there was a group of bumbling, lovable police cadets who were attending the Police Academy. They were a diverse and quirky bunch, each with their own unique set of skills and abilities.
There was Mahoney, the tough-as-nails, no-nonsense police captain who was determined to whip the cadets into shape. There was Hightower, the awkward, gangly cadet who was always getting himself into trouble. There was Jones, the smooth-talking, ladies' man cadet who was always trying to impress the ladies. And there was Callahan, the grumpy, old-school cadet who was always complaining about the new-fangled police techniques.
As the cadets went through their training, they encountered a series of hilarious and action-packed misadventures. They accidentally set off the fire alarm during a training exercise, got lost in the academy's corridors, and even stumbled upon a secret underground disco party. These men were the worst students in the police academy. One of them cause a conflict in a community just because he threw an apple to someone's door and the ower of the door was thinking it was his neighbor so they started fighting and the conflict spread to the whole community.
But despite their many mishaps, the cadets persevered and eventually graduated from the Police Academy. They were assigned to different police stations around the city and set out to make a name for themselves as bumbling, lovable police officers.
Through it all, the cadets never lost their sense of humor and their ability to make people laugh. They cracked jokes, made funny faces, and even broke out into spontaneous dance parties in the middle of a high-speed car chase.
In the end, the cadets became beloved heroes in their respective police stations, known for their comedic antics and their unwavering dedication to justice. They continued to make people laugh and bring joy to the world, one hilarious mishap at a time.
This movie changed my mindset about comedy and what comedy can really to our heart and body.
I had a very good laugh that day and that was how my deliverance came.
"Why do i prefer comedy to drama? Well, because laughter is the best medicine, and who needs actual medicine when you can just laugh your problems away! It's like a natural high-five for your mood, a comedy hug that says, 'Hey, things might be tough, but at least you can still laugh at this ridiculous joke!' Plus, comedy is like a rollercoaster of emotions. it's up and down, left and right, and sometimes it even does a loop-the-loop! But drama?
It's like a never-ending thing. it might be exciting at first, but eventually, you'll just want to scream, 'Get to it already!' That's why I watch more of comedy series than action series now. So, if you want to have a good time and forget about your worries, comedy is the way to go. Trust me, your therapist will thank you."
Comedy makes one laugh yes there is No doubt. Some people say's laughter is the best medicine, and who needs actual medicine when you can just laugh your problems away, but how long can that last? Then you return back to your normal state.
Drama is always the best dear

Well I do Nigeria comedy as well.
The recent I saw, was big Daddy's house. It's all about a man who faked his death, just to unite his polygamous family together.
Jit until his death, his children where not aware of each other. He promised them a huge sum of inheritance if only they can tolerate themselves for just a month.
It was a mistake of emotions and comedy was not left out of it.
He had different children from different mothers and just the commotion and constant funny fights really made me classify the movie as comedy.
