The Debate (no.15); Being Book-Smart is better than being Street-smart.

I'm delighted to participate in this contest today to talk about the topic BOOK SMART IS BETTER THAN STREET SMART. I thank the moderators for putting up this contest. Let me share my view with you all.

Introduction

A person who is book smart is someone who is equipped with the knowledge of formal Education, It is someone who is emotionally, academically, mentally, and socially intelligent. This is someone who has demonstrated intelligence and brilliance in a subject matter and is well-grounded in it.

A street smart on the other hand is someone who doesn't have a formal education but is well known for overcoming the challenges of life through sheer life experiences and skills acquired outside school.
Someone who is street-smart can indeed be successful but He or she will experience limitations. There is some information he may not have access to, hence the importance of being book-smart.

Advantages of Being Book-Smart

Recognition: When a person is book smart. He or she will be well-recognized in his field of endeavor. This is because There is a certificate backing him up which is recognized wherever he goes. Even if the person is leaving the country, the certificate speaks about his ability and credibility. The person doesn't need to be explaining himself up and down. The certificate does the speaking and stands as evidence.

Qualification:
Someone who is book smart is qualified to assume positions, especially in the political sector. Because an illiterate can not assume any political office. There are places you would want to enter, but because you don't have an educational background you won't be able to join. It also grants you the privilege to join some associations.

Promotion;
Being booksmart promotes you in your place of place and other areas of life. People will respect and treat you with the respect you deserve. The way a professor is treated is not the same way a successful businessman will be treated, there will be some degree of honor given to a professor or a doctor in any discipline.

More opportunities; As someone who is book smart, you will be presented with several opportunities to explore and make your life meaningful, but when you’re not you'll be limited.

Knowledge empowers: Knowledge, they said, is power. Having knowledge of a particular field or thing empowers you. When you know something you will be confident about yourself and will not suffer from low self-esteem. When someone is not well informed with the right knowledge or information, he becomes deformed. Those who are book smart have the right knowledge and information that will keep them informed.
