HOME WORKOUT VERSUS THE GYM: IS HOME WORKOUT A BETTER ALTERNATIVE FOR CAMPUS STUDENTS... OR NOT?
INTRODUCTION
Hello, welcome back to my blog friends. Hope you had a great day?.
Today I'm going to introduce you to something new.A top secret intel no else is willing to tell you.
Workout and Physical fitness in the comfort of ur own room. You are welcome. Shhhh, it's top secret.
It is every one's dream to workout and maintain a certain standard of body fitness due to it's confirmed countless benefits, but to achieve such dream is a problem as a result of the commitment and expenses which the rigors of 'keeping fit' demand.
Today, I will address the major challenges experienced in general workout and fitness routines in gyms that discourage participation as students. I will also enlighten us on how a good home workout plan provide simple and effective solutions to them with a major focus on Undergraduate campus students.
DISCLAIMER
This is a loud disclaimer screaming that ' A good workout plan in a GYM is the best for workout gains !!! '
My post is therefore an attempt to shed light to a successful shortcut path to achieving similar results of a gym in the luxury of ur room.
In this article I would highlight few of the shortfalls of engaging in productive gym participation as campus students to 'keep fit' and offer top secret solutions and shortcuts no else is willing to tell you.
CHALLENGE 1 : TIME
Scene A
'Ring, ring, ring.' 'Ring, ring, ring.'
Chuka wakes up with a startle. Damn loud alarm. It is a beautiful Saturday morning. Peeking into his watch, it's says 7: 00 am. He smiles. Today would be great. He brushes his teeth hastily and pours water over his face. Chuka proceeds to pick up his shoes ,wear his gym shorts and is just about to jog to the nearby gym for a much postponed visit. 'Ring ring ring'. 'Ring ring ring ring' . Damn alarm again!!. He picks up the phone to mute the alarm, but it's a call from Kachi to remind him of a fixed physiology class on Reproduction by Prof. Nwagha at 8: 00 am prompt today. A class he must never miss. Bad news. Chuka has less than one hour to prepare and get ready for the class. His appointment for the gym has to be postponed again as usual. He may never find the TIME!!!!!!
Scene B
'Bang!' Kachi rolls of the bed and knocks his head on the floor.
A usual way to wake up,due to a bad habit of sleeping late. Rubs his head furiously and commences his daily routine. He drinks a cup of water , stretches his sleepy limbs them proceeds to do a 15 minute home workout schedule consisiting of crunches, planks jumping jacks and push ups.Done and sweating profusely, he remembers an important info 'Ahhhh, Prof Nwagha's class is by 8am, I have to remind Chuka too'. He then picks up his phone and places the call.
SOLUTION
The scenarios above highlights one of the major challenges campus students face regarding their efforts towards 'keeping fit' in a gym.
One can beat his chest and argue that a properly planned home workout session can be executed with minimal time for maximum gain.
CHALLENGE 2: MONEY
This is easily one of the biggest expenses workout enthusiasts tend to face. Registration at good Gym centres is usually expensive and most typical campus students claim every single penny of their cash are tied down to one academic project or the other. This leads to reluctance in efforts to attain such physical fitness by visiting the gym. After all 'na who see food chop, dey gym.'
SOLUTION: Nothing much to say here. Home workout is extremely cheap, costing zero or close to zero. Infact, your entire cost for home workout would include your arms, your legs and the floor. You might need to spend money if one of these items above are missing.
So it's a cheap alternative campus students can embrace.
You are welcome.
CHALLENGE 3: FEAR OF FAILURE
This would probably be the most underestimated challenge which fitness enthusiasts experience in a gym. Tried before and failed? .... Too painful to be worth it?...etc. So, some never go back to the gym after the first week of trial because it seemingly just didn't work out for them due to pressure and the strenuous demand which they might not be able to cope with at such period.
SOLUTION: Home workout affords to allow everyone explore and start from their minimal best. You can't hit ten pushups?... Fine, try five pushups. You can't even hit five full lenght pushups? ... Alright,do the knee pushups. Hence, It allows you to progressively build on your limits and develop your fitness levels.
CHALLENGE 4: TOO LAZY FOR GYM ?????
A minor but rapidly spreading challenge in the campus environment for gym enthusiasts. Some lazy ones choose to question the relevance of wasting both time and energy in building fitness at gyms when they could channel these resources into making money or academic activities. And this mentality wears off on others around them.
SOLUTION : (tongue in cheek) Well, I can motivate you my friend. I hope you find my quote interesting. " Life is a spoon. Roll off ur bed and fall ,then you have push your self up...you may also sit up or crunch,do some jumping jacks or squat ...but never you remain at the floor. _Kachi ,2021"
Pun intended.
In essence, try home workout if you are too lazy to hit the gym. You might enjoy it .
SUMMARY
The list goes on an on but I hope these few are able to convince you that home workout is a stable alternative for campus students wishing to improve on their physical fitness.
Hence, home workout is an easily accessible alternative for campus students to improve their fitness levels without the rigors of hitting a gym. A good home workout plan would yield nearly equivalent results as a gym with a good practice and consistency.
