ONLY A FACTORY GIRL
This starts off after they have entered the factory, Lily is disturbed by the awful stench of the place. They see a mob of protesters holding their signs and screaming in affirmation to a man unstop of the machine who curses Mr Ambrose because of their low income and he claims if Mr Ambrose was here he will like to have a word with him, they all shout hailing the guy then suddenly a cold cough comes from behind bring everyone’s attention to him (mr Ambrose) he tells the man on the machine that he is here now so what is it u want to tell me . He slowly gets off the stage in fear after a cold look and stays behind the the machine. Mr Ambrose now tells the workers if the want their salary to be increase they will have to work to extra hours. Then with the look on his face every one brings down their weapons. Then a man beside mr Ambrose shouts stop, this is a protest you don’t have to do what he says, we all have rights and rights to be paid fairly and treated as humans not as slav......he gets choked by an angry Ambrose then he whispers something to his ear right before his face went pale. Then he confirmed every thing mr Ambrose says to him such as they will work for their salaries and no increase unless they work for several added hours. Mr Ambrose walks out of the factory calling Mr linton who still wonder how he stopped everything and getting people back to work.
The months was ending lily slashed every day of which passed in her calendar. Finally the day reached for her to get her first pay check, she arrived 10 minutes early at work happily greeting mr stones which great smile on her face walks up to mr Ambrose office and knocks saying may I come in right before the answer came in she was reaching out the door knob when she heard a No that she is 10 mins early and requests her pay check and he says she will have to wait for the work to start after the ten mins elapses and she should not enter the office. All she did was curse him outside after a couple of minutes the bell of the saint church rang which she hurried to the door to ask before it opened and mr Ambrose said yes lily u can come in , she stretches fort her hands for her pay check , mr Ambrose sluggishly takes the pen and drag the pen down the check book to write it down , he then tore it off the book and handed it to lily . Lily checks the amount noticing that she was given 10 pounds and two shillings while mr stones gets 20 . He told her that he works with his manly heart while she just pretender or pretendress, lily asked angrily if it was because she was a girl and she gat no balls he replies . She walks up to his desk with a folded hand and requests her full payment which it took a while before he wrote down telling her something in his cold voice that if he does this she must do ,follow , and obey every thing she says then she drags the slip without reply.
