Chapter 6: oh gentle lady spare my feet
Plot:
The first four paragraphs where exquisite, I seriously complimented it in the comment box of the novel. He really put time in his selection of words.
Setting:
Much of her thoughts didn’t come in this chapter. More of words, we really got to see words and physical bonding than that of her thought .
Characterization:
Her character and that of her aunts improved in a more caring way, I saw a lily who really saw emotions as an object to use.
Play:
This continues from her meeting an old friend as he describes it captain carter , Carter’s is one of the only men lily respects due to his character, she says he act like a poltergeist than a man. They of talking about where she went to and Lillian said France and reasoning why she told him that. She was hiding behind the curtain in the ball, he aunt came out running looking for lily asking telling her they are men who want to dance with you, not until she notices captain carter right beside her. A smile spreads wide in her face they both exchange greetings. Carter also tells her how they met and it’s seems like forever receiving several elbow hits to his ribs. The musics changes to the gallop dance song and they where all surprised by the rubbish play them until the captain explains its from Europe Lilly on the other hand wanted to try it out . Captain carter asked for a dance and she accepted. He taught her the dance which all about wild jumping. Then he tells her about his tragic leaving of Britain for war which was a secret , lily told him she would miss him and (to me was weird , lily is missing a man) then she watches him exit the ball.
Monday lily was getting ready for work and eating her aunt asked her where she was going and she lied saying it was the park and her aunt thought it was going out to meet captain carter , Lilly snuck to the garden changing to her men attire and off to work where she was reasoning Mr Ambrose words of making her resign by her self. On reaching the empire house which is the work place she is welcomed by the receptionist and climb the stair to her and mr Ambrose office corridor and is given an advice from Mr stones the messenger of Mr Ambrose. On getting her office door a voice come in from mr Ambrose office which is him which spoke come on mr linton we have work to do I know your there.
My linton is lily in disguise to be able to work for him as his secretary
