Steem Kindness Contest || How Steemit Influenced my Life || Club75

Greetings to Everyone and Assalamualaikum. This is Nimra Zahid From Pakistan. I am glad to take part in the Second week of the Steemit Engagement Challenge. This is going to be my second Participation in the Steem Entrepreneurs Community. I hope you all would like it.

First of all, I would like to thank the organizers of this contest who have literally come up with an idea that would inspire many of us to write about the things that steemit has brought into our lives. Though I have not been much active due to the reasons that I have explained in this post.

I still feel that Steemit has brought a major effect and a positive change in my life. And if not mine, it has completely made my brother a responsible person since he has joined the platform and taken a lot of responsibility until now. I am glad he's doing great. So as for now, we have to talk about the Steem Kindness project that requires us to tell about the changes that Steemit has brought to our lives, I am gonna get going with that.

How I came to know about Steemit

I got too tired from doing daily house chores and then scrolling Facebook and Instagram just to make sure that I waste 1 or 2 hours of mine and then I could sleep. In the meantime, I used to observe both my brothers engaged in conversations regarding a platform that was or is doing wonders for them. I heard them both for a few minutes and then went to moohsin to ask him whether it was some new social media application where they were doing some activities. I was kind of worried thus I tried to ask him and he told me about Steemit.

I searched about steemit on the Internet and this was what i found in the start:

I immediately went to ahsan and told him about not getting into it as it can also be a scam or something like that because back then, I didn't have much know-how about all these things and there are many people who cheat us by doing so. Then was the time when he told me about steemit and made me sure that it's a genuine platform where we can make friends from all over the world. We can improve our writing skills, we can help others by earning a good amount from here but none of these caught my attention until I heard about the diary games and the charity accounts.

I was so pleased that finally I could read about different countries from their own people, read about how people spend their day, think of ways how can we support charitable events, supporting charity around the world.

I found steemit a perfect place to replace the Facebook and Instagram phobia and thus joined steemit and started working over it.

The first cashout that I made was around 40k Pakistani rupees and I used them for some charity events and gave some of the amounts to my father as his office was being constructed and he needed very little money urgently.

Who helped me the most here?

I am not sure if anyone can relate to my words, but when it comes to Steemit, @haidermehdi, or Ahsan, my younger brother is the sweetest and most humble person to guide you in whatever the case be. Only if you are not doing plagiarism. In my early days, I tried to write about a Mobile company, Huawei.

I read the news on the internet and tried to present that in my own words, not realizing that it would be considered paraphrasing and plagiarism. I posted that and it was mentioned by some moderator of that community. I told Ahsan about it and he told me that the Moderator is right and you have done plagiarism. He then told me about all the achievement tasks and their vulnerabilities. I went through them and understood the concept.

We were then in a new Community currently recognized as Steemit Pakistan Community. He then told me about each and everything and made me understand the markdown stylings. He has continuously helped me out with whatever I want to do on this platform.

One thing I can assure you is that he never did favoritism toward me. In the starting days of his community, I asked him if he could make me or moohsin the moderator of the Community, he told us that there are more deserving people and who can do this responsibility better than us. That was the day and today, I have never asked him for any favor and always tried my best to improve my work! (Don't judge me here because I was just trying to be a funny sister :p ) Anyways, you can if you want ;)

The best positive changes Steemit brought to my Life

Steemit is not only a source of income and to be honest, I never saw it as a place to earn a living for yourself. Although we can do that here effectively. But for me, Steemit has always been a place where you can grow and secure a good future for yourself. I never took it as a social media or as a replacement for Fb or Insta, yes I have mentioned that above but to be very exact, steemit literally has no competition when it comes to joining people and joining them real good.

The content on steemit is meaningful, we are not out here making fun of others, even with those who have linguistic problems, we have always tried to lift them up with our words, votes, and actions.

I don't know if I had good writing skills or not, I don't remember if I had good communication skills but for now, if not good, I can say that I have got some skills so that I am able to write and participate in many contests and being able to communicate with people around the world by reading their posts and dropping my comments over them. This is a huge impact that could only be brought by Steemit. I don't see anyone else doing that. Neither in Pakistan nor anywhere else in the world.

Steemit now being with me, I don't have to scroll through useless posts on Fb, or Instagram, watch those funny videos and pranks on youtube or listen to music. Literally, when I felt like I was getting bored, I used to open steemit, read a few posts, and then get filled with energy. Steemit brings you up with engagement and activity. Looking out for good posts to read was never so easy.

I have always been a fan of doing charity events and helping people. I always tried to help everyone with a proportion of whatever I used to earn. Listening about this on steemit, made me crazy as to how I could be able to help people. I still remember the last Ramadan when the Steemit Pakistan boys took the challenge to do a ration drive in Ramadan while being on fast, it was really a commendable team effort and all of us contributed in that. I tried my best to contribute some cash and steem. And then. i also told Ahsan(haidermehdi) to bring all the boys to our house and then theycould do a iftar well organized by me and my family for all of them. I am pretty sure @hassanabid, @moohsin, @dabeerahmed and others remember that well enough.

I also took place in other charity events such as helping a friend for her marriage ceremony, distributing clothes to poor people who live in our society as servants, helping a widow, and many other events that I won't think would be right to disclose.

I also tried to promote steemit and bring people here for the purpose of kindness, but some of them couldn't join because of sharing pictures and some couldn't join due to their marital life. Recently, I have succeeded in bringing my elder sister komalsaman to steemit. She has already started working and I am sure she will enjoy this platform as much as I do.

This is all about my participation for this contest. I hope you guys can relate to these changes.
