Greetings friends,
Today I am not here with any controversial posts but to share some inspiring real-life stories that will help us to gather some practical lessons;
that we all must require to obey in our periodic life journey.

As the 14th of May was International Mother's Day;
so I thought I would share the story of two women.

Who not only assembles us scornfully but also teaches us several lessons of life.

My definitive lady and inspiration:- Sudha Kulkarni Murthy(Born in 1951)

An institution of life and an example of simplicity.

Yesterday while sitting and listing to her interview;
I was just mesmerized by tending the diva.

I am going to convey her journey of life that I read a couple of times;
and yesterday I also heard about her interview.

Sudha Murthy's father was a doctor and a father of three daughters.

They belong to a middle-class family where Sudha Murthy only grows up watching books.

At the age of seventeen, she decided that she will pursue engineering;
but at that time, only boys chose engineering as a career.

When she joined the college;
She was the only female student and found there was no restroom for girls.

The college authority did not bother to make the toilet for ladies at that time;
no one selects the engineering stream as a carrier. If someone had selected the stream;
They changed the stream in between and left the college.

That is the reason the college authority didn't focus;
or think of constructing a restroom for ladies.

Sudha Murthy also faced several problems, and one day when she shared her restroom problem with her father;
her father replied only talk, if you can walk.

It means if we decide on something to do;
then no matter what hurdles come our path, we must face them.

The principal of her college gives three conditions to her father;
before admitting her to the college.

1.Your daughter only wears a saree.
2.She can't come to the canteen.
3.She can't talk with any boys.

  • Sudha Muthy's humor is tremendous while saying so she said it is another matter that the condition of the canteen was not so good.

  • All the boys were scared to talk with me.

  • After getting the first rank in the first semester in engineering;
    boys were coming to me to collect notes.

I did some kind heartedness to provide notes for those poor boys.

After that, in the year 1974, Telco (Pune- A place in India ) Tata company sent a notice to that engineering college;
that they are looking for some efficient engineers with good salaries. But at the bottom, in the small letters, it had also written 'no female can apply for that job.'

After reading that notice, Sudha Murthy fetched infuriated and decided to send a proper reply to the CEO of the company;
who was none other than J.R.D Tata!

But she doesn't have the address, so she took a postcard and wrote that the world is running because of the contribution of 50% male and 50% female;
but not giving a chance to female employees, you are pruning the 50% growth of the country.

Now she didn't know the address of J.R.D Tata, so she has only written in the address portion;

J.R.D Tata
Telco
Bombay(now Mumbai).

The name was so famous that the postcard reached J.R.D Tata;
After reading the letter, the man called Sudha Murthy for the final interview. She was so good at technicality and answered all questions appropriately.

Then J.R.D Tata told her the reason why he didn't hire any female employees;
but Sudha Murthy got the job as the first female engineer in the Tata company.

Because her answer was to walk ten thousand steps, you have to start from one.

Then through one of her colleagues, she met Narayan Murthy, and she fell in love with him;
but at that time, Mr.Murthy quit his job
to form a company called Infosys.

Sudha Murthy's father told her how can I permit you to marry an unemployed person!
At that time, Sudha Murthy replied, divulging to everyone;
He is Sudha Murthy's husband.

  • To form the company Infosys, Narayan Murthy needed money;
    and also asked Sudha Murthy to manage the expenses for three months.

Sudha Murthy collected Rs.10,250 in a container of Ovomaltine(An empty container of milk product).

From there, she handed over ten thousand rupees to her husband, and now Infosys is a billionaire company.

  • Another incident happened to her when she was standing in a business class queue at Heathrow Airport wearing a salwar.

Two ladies told her to go and stand in the economy class queue, and in English they conversation themselves;
These are cattle-class people and don't know the meaning of business class and the price of tickets.

When Sudha Murty's number came, and she was released;
Then she asked those two ladies, what is the definition of class?
The class isn't defined by our clothes but by our deeds.

Now she is the mother-in-law of UK(United Kingdom's )Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

She still does a lot of charity, and her lifestyle is so simple that no one can express it with words;
you only can comprehend while watching her interviews.

Nice word said by Sudha Murthy:- Behind every successful women there is a understanding husband.

A good heart, simplicity, and determination can abide us too outlying.

Another lady who belongs to Delhi:- Guneet Mongra

20230516_002639_0000.png

She won the Oscar this year, 2023, for her film "The elephant whispers."

She doesn't have money, and her parents passed away;
but her dream was clear.

So to compile funding, while sitting in a ladies' hostel;
She often sends emails to different people who are decadents like- Ratan Tata and all but never acquires any reply.

IMG_20230515_232341.jpg

Then one day, she sent an e-mail to the honorable president of India(at that time, it was Pratibha Patil).

Luckily she received the answer to her mail and seek permission to see the film that she made;

The President gave permission and also sponsored the expense of the twenty-four people and the rest is history.

Always chase your dream. You never know when it will come true. Just give your best shot.

When she joined the college;
She was the only female student and found there was no restroom for girls.

This proves how self-confident a girl of that time thought herself. She had strong faith in herself. She has shown that even a girl can if she is given a chance according to her merits.

After that, in the year 1974, Telco (Pune- A place in India ) Tata company sent a notice to that engineering college;
that they are looking for some efficient engineers with good salaries. But at the bottom, in the small letters, it had also written 'no female can apply for that job.'

Seeing this, Sudhamurthy expressed her confident attitude through E-mail. Even she proved herself worthy.

In my personal opinion, after knowing this incident, I would call Sudhamurthy the pioneer of women's awakening. Moreover, the self-belief in people and the trust in their hard work is never in vain.

Now i feel that it is possible with me. Nothing is impossible with proper effort and self-belief.

It is not the boy or the girl but the action that carries the identity of a person.

I have heard many things from you about Sudha Murthy ma'am many times before and I know how much you respect her. I also watched the episode that day and was just as impressed by her words. How can such a virtuous person be so human, this thought surprised me. In doing good things in life, the lesson she gave of not to give up when faced with any obstacle, will really guide many common people. They will also overcome many obstacles and move forward.

Despite being such a virtuous person, there is no pride in her behaviour,and this is also a lesson for us. She was talking about her experience of traveling in business class on a plane. Where she says, clothes never judge a person's worth. His/Her education, behaviour towards people, judge how well he/she is as a human being. It's great to read your post and since I've heard these stories from you before, it's helpful to understand again why you consider a woman like ber to be your ideal in life.

  • Thank you very much ma'am for presenting such a beautiful article with us. Stay blessed🙏.

Thanks for sharing this with an audience who might or might not have seen that interview but as a fan of the interviewer and having watched almost all his episodes I watched this one too. You have presented this interview very well.
