In the world today, everyone yearns to be successful but then, what is success we talk about? The outlook of success varies with everyone's view. Everyone has a distinct view of success, even the people before us and those after us will have a different point of view of success. Since success is not something that you can merely duplicate from others. Everyone has to make their path to attaining success.

What is the definition of success according to you? Describe.

Before today, our fathers looked at successful people as those with the biggest farmlands, the highest number of livestock, the highest number of cowries or having plenty of children. Does this still hold water? The idea is, the definition of success is not rigid but rather dynamic and relative according to time and place.

To me, I would say Success is entirely the feeling of satisfaction, fulfilment and happiness one gets from living his/her life and/or carrying out a certain action to achieve something. This is simply looking at oneself and finding happiness and satisfaction in where he/she has been and what has achieved based on set goals.

The goal can be walking again after falling, passing an exam, making money, having financial freedom, having a home, being a parent or anything you set your mind to achieve and you did achieve it. The bottom line is achieving that which you have set your mind upon as long as it makes you happy, gives you contentment, and motivates you.

Do you consider yourself a successful person? If "yes," define, and if "No," then why?

Looking back at the things I've been able to achieve, I will say I am a success not just to myself, but even to those around me. To this, we have understand that there are different levels/types of success. We have;

• Career success
• Educational success
• Financial success etc

I had a goal to graduate from the university at a certain age and have a comfortable job. This I've achieved and yes, I may not have all the finance in the world, but I am really happy where I am today and that's all that matters. I'm still a working progress.

As I said earlier, success is relative to time and place, my current achievements give me happiness but at the same time motivate me to do more and set more goals. Which is my definition of success.

What message would you like to convey to your friends to become successful in life?

Dear friends, people compare themselves to other people's performance and the definition of success to evaluate their success. I want you to know that success is not the same for everyone hence, can not be copied from others. You'll have to make your path to achieving success.

Success is merely the achievement of one’s goal or aim. Therefore, anyone and everyone can attain success by simply achieving their aim or goals in life. So all you need do is set your goals and work towards achieving them. Don't compare yourself to anyone, not your mentor, your peers or what your parents see you for. Just be yourself and work towards achieving those goals you have put out to achieve. Remember, to achieve any goal in life you have to;

• believe that we are already a success. With this affirmative opinion, you will achieve success without you even knowing.

• follow our passion or better still, be passionate about your goals because your set goals are just a trophy to your passion.

• Remember there's no easy route to success as the path to success is always tough. Hence, you should build your confidence to face any challenging situations.

• Know that the most important standard to success is discipline. Working in a disciplined and determined manner, will not only stop you from quitting but will also open doors for you didn't expect for you.

Nobody ever becomes a success in a split second, it is not a so tough task either. All you need is strong determination bred with hard work that starts with setting your desired goals.

Of which comes the strategic planning on how and when to achieve them. It is advisable to set a time frame as it will enable you to evaluate yourself regularly and also keep your procrastinating habits in check. Remember, ‘no pain, no gain.’ Hard work and discipline is the key to success.

CONCLUSION

Success is likened to a seed that needs planting, watering and nurturing to grow. As much as plants grow around us, it does not grow in one day and the same is Success. Just as our faces and hearts are different, so is our aim and goals in life, hence, don't compare yourself to others, just know that success is the feeling of satisfaction when you fulfil your goals.
