Hello friends, I hope you are all well. I am also well because of the infinite mercy of God. Once again, I come to you to participate in this amazing topic of the fifth week of the Steemit Engagement Challenge. Through today's challenge, I will share with you about environment pollution.

What are the three significant reasons behind environmental pollution?

There are many reasons for environmental pollution, among them three main reasons are:

• Vehicle Exhaust: Vehicle exhaust is one of the major causes of environmental pollution. We have to use motorized vehicles for regular commuting and when they ply on the roads they emit harmful exhaust fume which pollute the air. Moreover, black exhaust fumes from vehicles increase the amount of carbon in the air which is one of the causes of global warming and is very dangerous for us.

• Pollution through industry: Various chemicals are used in industries to make various things and when they are used up they throw them into the water of rivers, canals, due to which the water is polluted and it is harming the ecology of the fish living in the water. Moreover, the rivers are losing their navigability day by day due to the excess waste being thrown into the river. And fossil fuels are used for power generation in industries which are polluting our environment due to improper disposal.

• Plastic: Plastic is playing one of the major roles in polluting the environment. We have to use plastic for various reasons in our daily life. As polythene is easy to make and cost is low, when we buy something we are given bags made of polythene to carry it and these bags become waste after one use which mixes with the soil and destroys the fertility of the soil. The use of plastic products in our daily life is increasing day by day. Plastic bottles, containers, when we throw them away after use, they slowly turn into waste and pollute our environment.

How can we prevent environmental pollution?

Humans and animals are the most affected by this environmental pollution. So we all should create public awareness so that we can reduce environmental pollution. However, there are some ways to prevent environmental pollution such as:

• Instead of plastic we can use things made of jute. Since plastic does not decompose easily, it can be recycled and reused instead of being thrown away, thereby preventing environmental pollution.

• To prevent noise pollution we can ban unnecessary loud vehicular noise in front of schools, colleges and educational institutions, hospitals and on roads and for this legal measures can be put in place if necessary.

• The waste generated from the industry should not be thrown directly into rivers, canals, sea water, they should be purified and filtered to prevent water pollution. To prevent air pollution we can use environment friendly vehicles or use fuel efficient vehicles.

Environmental pollution severely impacts humans and other life forms. The main elements of the environment are soil, water and air and all these are being polluted in various ways and are seriously affecting the lives of humans and other living.

Due to air pollution, people are suffering from respiratory diseases. The amount of carbon dioxide in the air is increasing day by day and due to air pollution various diseases are appearing in human lungs. Similarly, it is affecting other living organisms.

As a result of water pollution water borne diseases like cholera, dysentery, typhoid and various skin diseases occur in humans, similarly due to drinking dirty water it is creating various problems in animals.

Due to noise pollution, hearing loss in our ears, problems of heart disease occur. Moreover, noise pollution is responsible for creating mental problems in people. Children and adults especially get scared when they hear loud noises. Animals cannot tolerate excessive noise. We have seen that when there is a loud noise, all the birds fly away from it.

Soil pollution is reducing the fertility of the soil and the use of pesticides on the land year after year is reducing the crop yield which can create a dire situation for our fauna.

From this it can be understood that all pollution is seriously impacts the lives of other living including humans, so we should be aware of this.

Have you ever taken part to keep your environment clean?

I am always conscious to save the environment and keep it clean. We have a youth organization in our area through which we clean the places around our area. A few days ago there was a facebook campaign to clean a tourist center near our house in which I participated.

I love to plant trees and encourage others to plant trees too. There is no more space to plant trees around our house, so I have planted many trees on the roof of our house.

I try to use less plastic and for shopping I always carry a jute bag so I don't need to take a polythene bag after every shopping. In the future I will try harder to take every opportunity to clean up my environment.

To save the environment I want to give a message which is "Save the environment because it is our home". Just as we work to protect and keep our homes clean, we also need to work to save and keep our environment clean. We have to try to save the environment from each position and raise awareness so that we can keep the environment healthy.
