My Thoughts today on Setting Life Goals and Staying Motivated

Throughout our lives we keep setting goals but do not achieve all of them. Sometimes we start with a lot of zeal and then fizz out, or sometimes we need a lot of push and motivation to carry on. Anything that we start new in the initial times has lot of energy and then slowly gradually that energy starts going low. It is difficult to keep up with the same energy till the end. Any why does this happen? When we begin with any new activity or any new goal we start with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm, then why can't we not retain that enthusiasm till the end. When we begin, in our mind we make endless promises and commitments to our own self.

There can be many reasons to why we cannot carry on with the same zeal and enthusiasm that we started, like it can be lack of clarity of achieving the goal, the goal end result itself is not very clear, the goal can be too unrealistic and one of the reasons can be our own energy level. At the beginning in the excitement, we overdo things and then feel exhausted much before the goal is accomplished and then in the bargain give up half way. Then it can also be that we have not done our homework very well before starting and down the line we do not feel motivated enough.

To achieve any goal Being Consistent is the key factor. Not overdoing it and not underdoing it. It has to be spaced out in a manner that you divide all the resources and energy equally till you complete the goals. There will be some peak points on the way but it needs to be balanced out till the end result is achieved.

When people join Steemit or Blurt or Hive or any other blogging platform, they definitely do it with the intention of earning some money out of it. But if one joins here with a specific goal to achieve trust me their contribution would be at a much higher level than the one who has joined without any goal. Not all activity we do are goal oriented but when it becomes goal oriented then the level of commitment is also high. When a child studies for the exam with a goal to achieve distinguishing marks the efforts of the child will be very high against the child who just wants to clear the exams then be it with whatever marks. For both the children the activity is same, which is to give exam to pass. But one of them has a very specific goal to achieve from that activity and the other does not, so the results will also vary accordingly.

When I started on these platforms, I set a very specific goal for myself and now I am constantly working towards it no matter what. In the past 5 and a half years a lot of ups and downs came on the way but my goal is very clear and specific and hence none of them mattered much except for giving me some temporary setbacks which I was able to bounce back on.
