Some time ago, I stopped by with friends at the New Normal Cafe n Resto in Lambhuk, Banda Aceh. Meet colleagues and discuss many things. In the middle of the discussion, two other men appeared. The two are close co-owners of New Normal. They didn't come empty handed.

Both came carrying small plastic packets. It turned out that there was tobacco from Takengon inside. Takengon is a cold area in Aceh which is famous for its coffee and tobacco production. The second time he wanted to roll a cigarette.

He brought some tobacco. There is also a tool for making cigarette-rolled. He's made of plastic. We obviously couldn't make rolled cigarettes. We only know a few types of tobacco. The famous one is green tobacco. The quality is quite good.

In fact, this tobacco is sought after by many people. Reportedly, the smell of tobacco is almost similar to the smell of marijuana. But he's not drunk. Only the aroma makes people like it. I myself am not a connoisseur of tobacco. I hardly like different types of tobacco.

If there is tobacco, it is only used for medicine. No more than that. Tobacco on the market quite a lot. There are red, dark brown, light brown and green. What I often see being sold in the market is brown tobacco which is also rolled for cigarettes.

This category is mostly used by parents. They don't like packaged cigarettes. While sitting in the village hall with their friends, these old men were engrossed in smoking cigarettes.

However, this cigarette rolling tool is quite simple. After only a few minutes of practice, I barely memorized the steps to start making cigarettes.

Initially, we can try to include tobacco in large quantities. Then put it in the rolling tool and compact it. After it is dense enough, then take the cigarette paper to cover the round tobacco.

After the tobacco and paper are formed, then use glue to glue the two sides of the cigarette paper. Then the cigarette was made, cut both the left and right sides to make it look neater.

After that we learned a little how to roll cigarettes in a simple way, we continued our conversation. This time it's about coffee.

He said, tobacco was indeed planted between coffees, so that no pests would come. In essence, there are two advantages for farmers. Coffee harvest, tobacco can be obtained to generate income.
