Hello and welcome to the Season10 Week4 Engagement challenge, again I shall be participating in a wonderful contest by Incredible India titled "The three significant reasons behind environmental pollution." below is my Kindle participation.
What are the three significant reasons behind environmental pollution? Describe. |

In my country Nigeria, there are a lot of reasons which lead to environmental pollution, the effect of this pollution affect man's life and productivity, some major reason for environmental pollution include the citizen's ignorance of the adverse effect of pollution, people cutting down trees for immediate incomes, exploration activities, flooding among others but the most significant reason include:
- Deforestation and bush burning
Cutting down trees and bush burning affect the productivity of the environment, it greatly affects soil fertility and reduces the texture of the soil which will in turn affect farming and the raising of livestock. When trees are cut down, that easily allows erosion and affects the exchange of oxygen and Carbon.
Deforestation in my country cause some areas to become a desert because of the lack of trees, and direct sun radiation makes that environment uncomfortable for human existence because of the heat.
In Nigeria, deforestation is one of the major problems we have, people are just cutting trees and selling them for the immediate benefit not considering the future effect.
- oil spillage
This is one of the major environmental pollutions in my country, Nigeria is one of the major oil-producing countries, and oil spillage has affected the environment and has caused harm to people and animals in many localities.
This oil spill happened because of the mining and processing of crude oil. There is no good water to drink, aquatic animals can not survive in the ocean, and lots more. The land cannot be used for anything and people die every day because of hardship and diseases of the environment affected.
- Garbages
Throwing bins and garbage around also affects the environment, especially plastic and nylon. It is much more advisable to always recycle this garbage to reduce its effect on the environment.
The disposal of garbage affect water, and air and reduces soil strength and nutrient as well.
How can we prevent environmental pollution? |

One very important thing to do to prevent environmental pollution is to create a centralized place where people can be disposing garbage so that dirt will not be littered all around the environment.
Secondly, the government should also ensure that proper measures are put in place to stop oil spillage, the location of production companies should be far from residents.
Above all, there should also be a very strong agency controlling act that will lead to the disposal of any harmful substances which may cause harm to the environment.

Environmental pollution makes life unbearable to citizens, water is damaged which affect growing of plant and livestock. Erosion will also affect aspects of land fertility. In the Niger Delta of Nigeria, the issue of environmental pollution through oil spillage have make some growth of terrorist to be formed killing and vandalizing oil pipes in a call for equity.
Deforestation affects the environment and causes desert which the weather will be harsh and unbearable for man's survival.

Yes. I engage in planting trees to improve vegetation in my area, I also participate in the monthly environmental sanitation as directed by the government in my locality. I also create and share educative content to educate people around me on the effect of activities that will cause environmental pollution through steemit or other social media platforms

Together we can make the world a better place, let us always be courteous of activities that will affect the environment in the future.
Let us plant trees to keep the vegetation growing, and always keep the environment clean, it's our duty, our task to work toward a better environment.

En el mundo por cada árbol talado se debería sembrar 2,ya que los árboles son muy importantes para el planeta.
Very true sir.. There should be a replacement for every tree cut down, but the ignorance of many will not allow many see the future effect of deforestation.
As you mentioned, ignorance and oil spillage are the basic cause of pollution in Nigeria. But if the government can set a committee that can help create awareness on the effect of pollution, it will go a long way in reducing it.
YES SIR. it is definately the ignorance of many regarding the harms of the oil spillage that affect citizen in return. But with the assistance of the government and individual willingness, we can control this act.

Pollution is not only in Nigeria bit all over the world increasing day by day. To reduce we should use public transport. Use a bicycle or walk instead of a car for short distances.
polution is realy a factor affecting many countries in the world, people suffer and die everyday because of enviroment poluted and affected. I agree with you also in the phrase that we should learn to reduce usage of vahicle for short distance journeeis to reduce emision of carbon to the atmosphere.
