Good luck everyone in the final week of season 12. Today I'm going to participate in an amazing week six contest published by Incredible India. The last week's topic is "Great Festival in My Country" I swear this week is going to be great. Thanks to the Incredible India community for choosing such a topic. I am highlighting the festivals of my country below.

What is the grand festival of my country and how should I celebrate this great festival?

First of all I am from Bangladesh, Bangladesh is a Muslim majority country but people of other religions celebrate their religious festivals beautifully. I will mention two major festivals of Muslim religion as grand festivals in my country, one is Eid-ul-Fitr and the other is Eid-ul-Azha. Both these festivals are celebrated with grandeur. Eid-ul-Fitr comes to us after a month of fasting. This siyam comes to atone for our past sins and gives the message to forget the hatred and differences and rejoice with all. Another is Eid-ul-Azha, which is celebrated with animal sacrifices for self-sacrifice. Allah accepts our sacrifice and animal sacrifice.

Besides, in non-communal Bangladesh, the main festival of Bengalis is celebrated on the first day of the month of Baishakh. Forgetting all religions, we celebrate this day together. This day turns into a great festival for the Bengali nation.

Would you love to go on a vacation during this festive period, or would you love to stay in your country and celebrate the festival with your family? Give the reason behind your choice.

Yes I go home on holidays to celebrate Eid with family. I or other family members have never celebrated Eid alone or outside. We all enjoy together in the village on Eid. On this Eid day, we friends go out together. A get-together with school friends is held on this Eid occasion. Our conversation lasted till night. At night a dinner is organized at a friend's house and that night lives on in the memory.

After fasting for a whole month comes the desired Eid-ul-Fitr. That day, I woke up early in the morning at the call of my mother and went to the mosque and offered the Fajr prayer together. Come home, take a bath, put on new Punjabi clothes, semai, pies, dates, eat whatever sweets you like, go to Eid Namaz and perform Namaz, and cuddle after Namaz. It turns into a meeting where everyone forgets the violence and differences. Coming home after namaz we give time to family and go out with friends.

On Eid-ul-Azha, we finish the Eid prayer and sacrifice in the name of Allah according to our ability at home, and distribute the meat of the sacrifice among the poor according to the rules of sacrifice.

Do share with us any memorable moments related to the festival..

Many happy moments are created in the festival. From there I share with you a moment that satisfies my mind. On Eid-al-Adha, most of the helpless people of the village are fed in our house. On that day, Ammu cooked rice and curry in a large pan. It starts from noon and ends in the afternoon, but that evening an old woman comes to take meat with a few pieces of meat in her bag. Seeing him looking very tired and weak, Ammu asked him if he had lunch, he said no one let him eat. Ammu fed him and then gave him some meat. I will never forget the smile of gratitude I saw on that old lady's face that day.

On the day of Eid there are joys and sorrows and that is very tragic. In our country many youths ride bikes at high speed on Eid afternoon. That day when we were having a soft drink at a confectionery shop near the bridge, there was a loud noise and two bikes met with an accident from both sides and their condition was very bad. Finally, one person died in the hospital. Which is very sad.

Much love for your lovely comment.

Festival period are always important to families as they get to spend time together to eat and share many things together. You're not left out as you always go to meet your family. That's good of you.

Muslims here always do enjoy their feast. This year I got to spend it with a Muslim friend first time in my life

It's good for me that you like my festival. Thanks for your comment.
