RE: Sharing is Caring - Paintings You Like
My view is that something doesn't seem to "end well" With that view...
Cultural issues will indeed greatly influence our view of something, but in a painting, I believe only the painter knows the core meaning of what he painted. Observers of paintings can speculate this and that, but sometimes painters still choose to keep secrets in their paintings because it is part of their soul.
Leonardo was not only a painter, he was a person who had a great curiosity and was very intelligent, his true nature was studying nature and he usually poured out what he learned in paintings. And "maybe" There is something that is still strange in his heart and he has not found the answer to his question....
Leonardo dug up corpses and cut them open. Imagine we would do that today.
So interesting is how we turn a blind eye on that today because?
Also I don't complain about secrets but I do "complain" about the forced upon opinion about this painting. If it comes to art one has the right to see it or feel it in his own way. With this painting that isn't allowed. The critic said.. Wikipedia and everyone copies that opinion so is there still someone discovering himself what the painting is about without being influenced by what the opinion should be?
Who decides what art is? The school? The fact he is dead? Is the mystery that smile or the fact he painted his female side or the fact he can make critics believe everything once known by dragging it around with him?
Do you know many paintings are painted on a former painting?
By the way he was an inventor and next to that an autodidact and that's for sure the best about him. Also interesting is that although he is famous today and people worldwide praise him and cheer those same people would not notice it if a same kind of artist would stand in front of them let alone give some support.
Society dislikes different, high intelligence isn't understood and it feels as if art only counts if is announced this is special and worrh the buy.
Thanks for the good talk.

I don't judge how someone sees Leonardo... Because the views of people who like to say good things and those who don't, they will say anything they don't like...
I agree that a "recognition" greatly affects a person's reputation, sometimes they will misjudge,...
What is clear, Leonardo is a painter who makes me wonder "how can he do everything"? Is he alone or is there someone behind his success...
For the conglomerate, getting something luxurious and rare is a hunt that can satisfy desire. Maybe even if it's a torn shirt, they will buy it...
