Movie | Horrors: Castlevania by Netflix

in LifeStyle3 years ago

Based on Konami's hit Castlevania franchise, which started in the late 80's, Castlevania is an American-made animation exploring the world of vampires and vampire slayers.

Originally planned as a full-length feature, what became of the show was years of development hell until Netflix jumped on board, switching it from a full-length feature to a show.

The show follows Dracula, a vampire that loses the love of his life after she is accused of being a witch. Despite the accusations being true, there's nothing dark about her witchcraft, it's simply the religious being ignorant and overly superstitious. She is then burned alive.

Dracula vows that he will have his revenge on those responsible for her death. He is to assemble a huge army and unleash them upon the world. They will be punished for taking away the love of his life.

Unfortunately, the first season is only four episodes long, and it appears we still have some time to wait until the second season is to air, but the first season felt like a teaser of the dark style of Castlevania that is to come. Its pacing, art, and writing were incredibly enjoyable, given it is aimed towards a more adult audience.

Oh, the games are also great, too. Play them this Halloween.
