Mindful Monday - Setting Intentions - Goals and Making Changes - Look Out 2020 Here I Come...
Being that it is a new year and I like to reflect and get the new year off to a good start, making for better years to come, I have come up with some changes I want to make in my life.
Writing of these changes will be part of my entry for the Natural Medicine Health Goal Challenge. You still have until Thursday January 9 to get your entry in! There is 100 STEEM to be won plus LOTUS coin rewards, you even get some LOTUS just for entering! Go here now to find out more!
And they are a response to the @ecotrain Question of the Week
What would you like to do differently this year?
Everyone is welcome to join in for the QOTW! You can find out more here
Actually I already did a post listing these changes which is part 1 for @NaturalMedicine 's Challenge and a response to @ecotrain 's QOTW - You can read it here.
Now on to Part 2...
This time I shall be reminiscing/reflecting on the 21 Day Abundance Challenge I finished up on the Solstice (good timing hey!)
Good News! @plantstoplanks offered to run one of these 21 Day Abundance Challenges for the New Year - starting Jan 10 (so you can get if finished this month - more good timing!) If you are interested, it has been posted here
In the Abundance Challenge, each day after the meditation, we were given a centering thought for the day. I wrote these on sticky notes to have for reminders. I'll be using those (the first 10) in this post.
- At the beginning it was all about just being able to see the abundance around you.
This fit in with my adapting a shortened version of the Thanksgiving Address - a Greeting to the Natural World with the original Haudenosaunee word or title translated to Words Before all Else. I have made the change to start my day being grateful and I realize I have everything I need, food, clothing, shelter, love and companionship! What a difference this makes to have that mindset instead of being grumpy or worrying about your aches and pains (Me grumpy - never or complain - not me! Ha Ha!) - Once I start to see the abundance then it's time to figure out what it is that I would want an abundance of in my life?
Deepak Chopra, who guides these meditations and exercises in the challenge, mentioned things like love and boundless joy - that really resonated with me. When I realized there can be that abundance and that it comes from an infinite source (there is no limit on the amount of love or joy there is) combined with the fact that my core being is the ultimate reality I chose to place boundless joy, expanding what I seek for in my meditation practice. I seek to be released and experience Nibannic peace, tranquility and joy (boundless joy), to share with those around me. this helps to open me up to that joy! - If I want to attract joy into my life then I should create joy, give joy. How do I do that? Or when do I feel joy? I find joy when I'm sharing my gifts for it true that it is a joy to give! The joy of children and the joyous songs of birds. That is the bird's gift, their song, and I can receive it if I stop and listen, let it fill me with joy!
- Now to become a silent witness to my own thoughts and listen to my heart, living more consciously and inviting unlimited abundance into my life.
That is how I like to begin my day, being that silent witness in my Vipassana meditation practice and carrying it on throughout the day. - In this session we were asked to do some clearing out in our lives and our subconscious, clear out all that doesn't serve us. I mentioned this in part one where I express that it can be a very freeing experience, freeing our attention and energies for that which has meaning to us. It can give us more clarity for things like setting intentions, we can now do it with a clear vision of a desired action. It also opens us up for transformation. Having an intention set, expecting it to happen and then being able to accept it. That is a big thing to be able to accept, to receive abundance in your life!
This is good for resolutions. I wrote my intentions/goals/what I resolved to do in part one of the Natural Medicine Health Goal Challenge. It is good to write down your intentions for it solidifies them!
Where will you put your attention and energies? What are your intentions?
Time to embrace your potential, work to your greatest potential for there is unlimited potential available! - We are all born with everything we need. Mother Nature supplies us we everything we need. Just look at the abundant bouquet set before you, look and partake, being grateful for all that is given! Look within, it is with in you too! This is where the subconscious comes in and knowing your core being.
- Things like a coincidence, a miracle can happen in an instance.
I'm learning that through my awareness and attention I can be more conscious of these. Actually life itself is a miracle! With my intentions written down and living more consciously I can begin to manifest the desired actions and outcomes, being aware of the Karma (Sanskrit)/kamma(Pali) law - cause and effect.
That doing wholesome acts will bring about wholesome results and doing unwholesome acts will bring about unwholesome results! Also remembering that there is unlimited potential that I can tap into. - Deepak Chopra expressed something beautiful in this session with the law of Pure Potentiality - We are pure consciousness in the field of infinite possibility. Thus we can create anything, anytime, anywhere! What will you create?
I love St. Francis 's Prayer of Peace and what is contained in that prayer is what I am aiming for - bringing more peace, love and joy!
Here is a beautiful version in song by Sarah McLachlan
9)Now to put into practice the Law of Giving.
Robin Wall Kimmerer in her book Braiding Sweetgrass (The full text of her book can be read for free here) spoke of the Native tradition of "Giveaways" or the traditional name "Minidewak" which means “they give from the heart.”
She writes
In a culture of gratitude, everyone knows that gifts will follow the circle of reciprocity and flow back to you again. This time you give and next time you receive. Both the honor of giving and the humility of receiving are necessary halves of the equation.
Look to see what gifts you have and how to bring them into the world.
I see we have a gift of words. I love the medium of books and writing. I have the skills to help people take their writings and put it into book form - get their words/message out to the world. I'm in the process of setting up to better offer that service.
What if you were offer everyone you encounter a small gift, be it a smile, do an errand for them or help someone who is having difficulties? Wouldn't that make for a wonderful world!
When we nourish the universe, the universe will nourish us!
Give what you wish to receive!
10)In the tenth session, Karma was bought up again plus stewardship, taking care of the things we value. Realizing that every action we take puts out a force of energy that will come back to us.
As you sow so shall you reap
Keeping this in mind, I try to make wise choices, be more fully conscious and care for wholesome deeds of my doing!
May you all have a rich and fulfilling life full of abundance!

Such a beautiful and true song in the video my friend.
"for it's in giving that we receive" is my favorite line, as we should not expect to receive like the world would (riches to spend on the self), but rather to receive in order to freely give more.
There is true happiness in helping others unconditionally, in gratitude for what we have, and even if we don't have, happiness will find its way to us if we care for others in word and deed.
Just my own way of thinking.
Blessings!
And a lovely way of thinking it is!
Thank you my dear friend!

My friends just started a yoga studio with that idea in mind - give, and you shall recieve. It's such a beautiful philosophy to live by xx - Love, @riverflows xx

What country do you live in? sometimes they may not be available in certain countries. I've had that happen with certain videos so maybe that is what is happening here. Try a Google search and see if you can find the full text that way.

Thanks for sharing. You have some great goals for 2020. I missed out on this challenge by Natural Medicine. I'll keep an eye out next time.
I believe it's all in your state of mind. And of course, I believe heartily in the concept of charity and giving with no expectation of anything in return.
