I used to travel a lot (before the pandemic). I always try to contribute for the environment in ny daily life as well as during traveling.

(i) No littering - We always follow this. No throwing of chocolate wrapper or chips packet from car or train window under any circumstances.

(ii) Clean the trail - During trek, we carry a common packet to carry our own waste as well as the non biodegradable wastes along with the trail. We dump the waste at the end of our trek to the designated dustbin only.

(iii) Reduce carbon footprint - We avoid traveling by car - we prefer trek. Thus, reducing the carbon footprint.

(iv) Reduce packaged water - We carry water bottle with us and try to refill it from tap water or from river / fountain across the trail. We purify it using liquid water purifier before consuming.

(v) Reuse of utensils - We avoid use of disposable plates. We carry plate and spoons and reuse those during the entire trek.

(vi) Use of public transport - We encourage the use of bus / shared car.

(vii) Avoid canned / frozen food - We try to consume fresh food and reduce the use of canned food / frozen food as these foods have impact on environment.

(viii) Travel in Sleeper Class - We encourage to travel in Sleeper class insted of Air conditioned coach. This is to reduce the impact over the environment.

(ix) Less print out - We avoid taking print out of our tickets and travel using soft copies if possible.
