I went to Jaflong on the First day of the Sylhet tour i.e. on 12th October 2020. We had fixed the CNG walai of the previous day, that is, the CNG walai of Sadapathar Ratargul. The reserve for the whole day was 1500 rupees. So at 8 o'clock in the morning I had breakfast with five brothers and left for Jaflong. On the way we had the opportunity to observe many important installations inside the city. Thus we crossed the city and proceeded along the charming road towards Jaflong. About ten-thirty to ten-thirty we reached our desired Jaflong. Jaflong is located in the border area of ​​Sylhet, Bangladesh. On the other side of it is the Daoki region of India. The Daoki River enters Bangladesh through the Jaflong from the hills of the Daoki region. Jaflong is located in the Piain River Basin.Jaflong in Sylhet is known all over the country as the daughter of nature. Jaflong is located at the foot of Khasia Jainta hills and is a land of natural beauty. The piles of rocks laid out on the banks of the Piain River have made Jaflong attractive. The Indian hills on the other side of the border, the waterfalls flowing uninterruptedly from the Dauki hills, the hanging Dauki Bridge, the crystal clear water of the Piain River, the dense forests in the high mountains and the shunshan silence enchant the area. Traders started coming to Jaflong by sea in search of stones. As the stone trade expanded, new settlements were formed. Jaflong's 55 km road link with Sylhet was established in the eighties. From then on, word of the eye-catching beauty of Jaflong spread all over the country. Domestic and foreign tourists as well as nature lovers also flock to Jaflong.

Going to Jaflong, I felt that what was needed was the border of India and Bangladesh. Because as far as the eye can see, only beauty is in sight and all of them are in India. The border is marked with a signboard at Jaflong Zero Point which will be alerted by the BGB whistle as soon as it is crossed. Moreover, the dinghy of the people of Meghalaya fishing in the river Piain is also captivating. Several Indian tourists were also spotted in the Indian part. The beauty of Jaflong in Sylhet, Kashmir, Bangladesh was quite enjoyable but it seemed to me that Sadapathar, Bichanakandi and Jaflong in Bholaganj are fairly similar places. The uniqueness of the Indian skyscrapers with its combination of clear water and white stone. So he did not go to Bichanakandi. However, the basic difference between Bholaganj and Jaflong is that the water of Bholaganj has very high currents but the water of Jaflong is stable and not much current is observed. Moreover, there is not much difference. After an hour of photo session and bathing, we completed our Jaflong Zero Point trip.

জাফলং গিয়েছিলাম সিলেট ট্যুরের প্রথম দিনে অর্থাৎ ১২ই অক্টোবর ২০২০ তারিখে। আমাদের আগের দিনের সিএনজি ওয়ালাই ঠিক করা ছিল অর্থাৎ সাদাপাথর রাতারগুলের ওই সিএনজি ওয়ালা। পুরো দিন রিজার্ভ ছিল ১৫০০ টাকাতে। তো সকাল ৮ টার মধ্যে পাঁচ ভাই থেকে ব্রেকফাস্ট করে বেরিয়ে পড়ি জাফলং এর উদ্দেশ্যে। যেতে যেতে শহরের ভেতরকার অনেক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ স্থাপনা অবলোকনের সুযোগ হলো আমাদের। এভাবে শহর পেরিয়ে আমরা মনোমুগ্ধকর রাস্তা ধরে এগিয়ে যেতে লাগলাম জাফলং এর উদ্দেশ্যে। মোটামুটি সোয়া দশটা থেকে সাড়ে দশটার মধ্যে আমরা পৌঁছে গেলাম আমাদের কাঙ্ক্ষিত জাফলং এ। বাংলাদেশের সিলেটের সীমান্তবর্তী এলাকায় জাফলং অবস্থিত। এর অপর পাশে ভারতের ডাওকি অঞ্চল। ডাওকি অঞ্চলের পাহাড় থেকে ডাওকি নদী এই জাফলং দিয়ে বাংলাদেশে প্রবেশ করেছে। মূলত পিয়াইন নদীর অববাহিকায় জাফলং অবস্থিত।

প্রকৃতি কন্যা হিসাবে সারাদেশে এক নামে পরিচিত সিলেটের জাফলং।খাসিয়া জৈন্তা পাহাড়ের পাদদেশে অবস্থিত জাফলং প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্যের অপরুপলীলাভূমি। পিয়াইন নদীর তীরে স্তরে স্তরে বিছানো পাথরের স্তূপ জাফলংকে করেছেআকর্ষণীয়। সীমান্তের ওপারে ইনডিয়ান পাহাড় টিলা, ডাউকি পাহাড় থেকে অবিরামধারায় প্রবাহমান জলপ্রপাত, ঝুলন্ত ডাউকি ব্রীজ, পিয়াইন নদীর স্বচ্ছ হিমেলপানি,উঁচু পাহাড়ে গহিন অরণ্য ও শুনশান নিরবতার কারণে এলাকাটি পর্যটকদেরদারুণভাবে মোহাবিষ্ট করে। এসব দৃশ্যপট দেখতে প্রতিদিনই দেশী-বিদেশীপর্যটকরা ছুটে আসেন এখানে। প্রকৃতি কন্যা ছাড়াও জাফলং বিউটি স্পট, পিকনিকস্পট, সৌন্দর্যের রাণী- এসব নামেও পর্যটকদের কাছে ব্যাপক পরিচিত। ভ্রমনপিয়াসীদের কাছে জাফলং এর আকর্ষণই যেন আলাদা। সিলেট ভ্রমনে এসে জাফলং নাগেলে ভ্রমনই যেন অপূর্ণ থেকে যায়।সিলেটনগরী থেকে ৬২ কিলোমিটার উত্তর পূর্ব দিকে গোয়াইনঘাট উপজেলায় জাফলং এরঅবস্থান। জাফলংয়ে শীত ও বর্ষা মওসুমের সৌন্দর্যের রুপ ভিন্ন।

বর্ষায় জাফলংএর রুপ লাবণ্য যেন ভিন্ন মাত্রায় ফুটে উঠে। ধূলি ধূসরিত পরিবেশ হয়ে উঠেস্বচ্ছ। স্নিগ্ধ পরিবেশে শ্বাস-নি:শ্বাসে থাকে ফুরফুরে ভাব। খাসিয়া পাহাড়েরসবুজাভ চূড়ায় তুলার মত মেঘরাজির বিচরণ এবং যখন-তখন অঝোরধারায় বৃষ্টিপাহাড়ি পথ হয়ে উঠে বিপদ সংকুল-সে যেন এক ভিন্ন শিহরণ। ইতিহাসঘেঁটে জানা যায়, হাজার বছর ধরে জাফলং ছিল খাসিয়া জৈন্তা-রাজার অধীন নির্জনবনভূমি। ১৯৫৪ সালে জমিদারী প্রথা বিলুপ্তির পর খাসিয়া জৈন্তা রাজ্যেরঅবসান ঘটে। তারপরও বেশ কয়েক বছর জাফলংয়ের বিস্তীর্ণ অঞ্চল পতিত পড়ে রয়েছিল।ব্যবসায়ীরা পাথরের সন্ধানে নৌ পথে জাফলং আসতে শুরু করেন। পাথর ব্যবসারপ্রসার ঘটতে থাকায় গড়ে উঠে নতুন জনবসতিও। আশির দশকে সিলেটের সাথে জাফলং এর৫৫ কিলোমিটার সড়ক যোগাযোগ প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়। এরপর থেকে জাফলংয়ের নয়নাভিরামসৌন্দর্যের কথা সারাদেশে ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। দেশী-বিদেশী পর্যটকদের পাশাপাশিপ্রকৃতিপ্রেমীরাও ভিড় করতে থাকেন জাফলংয়ে।

জাফলং যেয়ে আমার অনুভূতি যে ভারত বাংলাদেশের সীমান্তের কি দরকার ছিলো। কারণ যতদুর চোখ যায় শুধুই অপরূপতা চোখে পড়ে আর সবই ভারতের মধ্যে সেগুলো। জাফলং জিরো পয়েন্টে সাইনবোর্ড দিয়ে সীমানা চিহ্নিত করা আছে যা ক্রস করলেই বিজিবি বাঁশি দিয়ে সতর্ক করে দিবে। তাছাড়া মেঘালয়বাসীর ডিঙি নৌকাতে করে পিয়াইন নদীতে মাছ ধরার দৃশ্যও মনোমুগ্ধকর। ভারতের অংশে বেশ কিছু ভারতীয় পর্যটকও চোখে পড়লো। বাংলাদেশের কাশ্মীর সিলেটের জাফলং এর সৌন্দর্য ছিল বেশ উপভোগ্য তবে আমার কাছে মনে হয়েছে ভোলাগঞ্জের সাদাপাথর, বিছানাকান্দি এবং জাফলং মোটামুটি সিমিলার প্লেস। স্বচ্ছ পানি আর সাদাপাথরের সমাহার সাথে ইন্ডিয়ান আকাশচুম্বী পাহাড়গুলোর অপরূপতা। বিছানাকান্দি তে তাই আর যায়নি। তবে ভোলাগন্জ আর জাফলং এর বেসিক পার্থক্য হলো ভোলাগঞ্জের পানি অত্যন্ত স্রোতধারাসম্পন্ন কিন্ত জাফলং এর পানি স্থির, তেমন স্রোত পরিলক্ষিত হয়না। তাছাড়া তেমন পার্থক্য চোখে পড়েনা। এক ঘন্টা ফটোসেশন এবং গোসলের পর্ব সেরে আমাদের জাফলং জিরো পয়েন্ট ভ্রমন শেষ হলো।
