Good evening amazing people of steem geography. Am glad to be a participant in another contest in this beautiful Community. I want to thank @belenguerra, @bright-obias, and @badsha1 for this opportunity.

Am going to be discussing some things about my locality with different pictures. I'll start by letting us know that I am from Nigeria. Nigeria is one of the countries in the continent of Africa. Africa is one of the continents in the world. Africa has 54 countries of which my country Nigeria is one of them.
Nigeria is a country on the coast of West Africa, bordered by the Bight of Benin and the Gulf of Guinea in south. Nigeria is bordered by Benin, Cameroon, Chad, and Niger, it shares maritime borders with Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, and São Tomé and Príncipe

Nigeria has 36 states with Abuja as it's federal capital. I reside in Imo state which is one of the states in Nigeria and the capital is owerri. I reside in the state capital; Owerri. Imo state has 27 local government areas. Owerri as the state capital has three local government areas. They are owerri municipal, owerri north and owerri west. My locality is in owerri municipal. Owerri municipal is a very beautiful place with serene environment. We have so many places of Interest in my locality and they include traditional markets, universities, school, supermarkets, factories, banks, fast foods, hotels, etc. I'll show us some places of Interest in my locality.

Ekeonuwa market.

It's situated along Douglas Ekeonuwa road.

The Ekeonuwa market is the most popular market in Owerri municipal. It's located on Douglas Ekeonuwa road in the center of the community. People from around the state come to this market to buy various commodities ranging from house hold items to clothing's to food stuffs and all manner of diary needs. The market has no market days. It's usually very busy all though the week but especially on weekends. Items in this market is relatively cheaper than other markets around.

Destiny supermarket

What3words. It's located at cherubium junction Owerri.

Destiny supermarket is a very popular supermarket location at cherubium junction along wethdral road in owerri. It's my favourite supermarket and they house all manner of items. It's a storey building and both the ground floor and upper floor are stuffed with items for sell. I love this supermarket because they have varieties of similar items to choose from. They sell toiletries, cloths, provisions, perfumes, wrist watches, etc. They even sell antiques and decorative monuments for interior decoration. There's a stair case inside the supermarket that leads you to the upper floor. They have a locker where you keep your bag before Shopping. This reduces theft in the supermarket. They have over eight Teller points and makes payment for items bought very easy.

Inside the ground floor is a staircase which leads to the upper floor which also houses various goods.

Freedom square

Situated At Orlu road owerri.
Freedom square is a popular square in Owerri municipal named after the Igbo legend Odimegwu Ojukwu. It's a mini open square used for occasions like parades, seminars, conferences, workshops, village meetings and etc in the state. It has a very big globe supported by two iron beams in the middle. Under the globe is a monument of a man which broken chains dangling from his wrist. This is a symbol of freedom just as the name of the square implies. It has beautiful seats of different colours arranged under a big shade which people sit on during these meetings.

This is generally called IICC. It's a beautiful conference hall that can sit over 5000 people. It's fully air-conditioned and it's used for mega meetings, seminars, conferences and weddings all over the state. It's cost about 2 million naira to hold a meeting in the place, that is to say that is costs about 13,333 steem to hold a conference in IICC. On the sign post of the IICC are poles at which the flags of the political ruling party which is All progressive congress are seen flying.
People from all walks of life come around to hold meetings here.

The body of the convention center is covered in blue glass. To the right, left and center are massive spaces which are used as car parks. The parking lot can contain over hundred cars.

NKwo Orji market

NKwo orji market is a local market in the outskirts of the Owerri municipal. It's very small but the items sold in it are also cheap. They have markets days which holds at four days intervals, usually every nKwo day. The marketers sell more of food items like yams, rice, meats, fish, vegetables,beans and etc. Exotic items like clothings, bags, shoes etc are not sold here. It's more of a village market. People from the interior neighboring Communities bring their farm produce to sell on the market days.

University of Agriculture and environmental sciences Umuagwo

This is a tertiary institution on the outskirts of Owerri municipal. They study many courses like science lab technology, business management, Engineering, Agricultural related courses, public administration, management, etc. They have a very big school filed for extra curricular activities. The have many lecture halls, love garden for sit outs, medical facility and hostels for students who want to leave inside

It's Located at Amawire orji.
It's a beautiful shopping mart in the municipal too. They also sell all manner of house hold items and personal items. The inside layout of this particular mart is very unique and different from the others in the Locality. It's like the most beautiful supermarket in our locality. The variety of items they sell attracts people from different parts of the community. The also have a segment for fast foods.
