This is week 6 of steemit engagement challenge, nice to kick-start with this wonderful lecture delivered by our able lecturer, when it comes to Agriculture this involves planting of crops and rearing of animals just for man's consumption, to modernize it looking at the overall technological advancement across the world we then apply lot's of mechanism all round, this will lead us to the overall use of Drones.

What role have drones (unmanned aerial vehicles) played in modernizing agriculture? Use your country as an example if applicable.

Drones is a technological advancement/machine which is used in other Facets of life, in agriculture in this 21st century it has been initiated with the sole motive to increase efficiency and over-all reduces cost.

Just as we all know using my country as a case study Nigeria, we usually make use of old way's of planting and rearing of animals this pattern involves lot's of cost, buying feeds, grains, punky, etc, but with the use of drone's we where able to achieve the following within my country area of specialization.

• Monitoring Well-being of Crops=. Drone flies and are very much equipped with lot's of camera's which contains sensor's and are very sensitive, it monitors the crop's and help's defects various pets which attacks the development of crop's. Here in Nigeria we have the Nigeria Agricultural Co-operation Uniport chapter we make use of drone's to monitor the health of our crop's.

• Irrigation And Control=. Drone's applied in various farm's help's in supervising or monitoring the level of water distribution to the farm, for instance a place where rice are been planted, you all know that rice needs lot's of water in order to produce good and quality yield in the end, with the mechanize use of drone's water distribution can be optimized.

• Monitoring of live-stocks= In a very big farm, drone's help's in reducing labour, normally people employed in the farm help's in looking/monitoring the livestock's, but with the help of drone's everything looks really simple, drone's monitors the overall well-being of the live-stock from above with it's camera's and sensors, any live-stock that isn't healthy will then be fished out and torolly taken care of medically.

How do drones contribute to precision and efficiency in agricultural practices?

Drone's have contributed Alot in the transformation of agriculture in my country Nigeria, one crutial Way is precision spraying, this happens in our farm here in uniport, where drone's are seeing spraying fertilizer's, in order for good and quality yield production in the end.

When this motive of precision is achieved you find out that there is minimal risk when it comes to crop distruction as drone's also spray pesticides that will kill up pests in the farm, thereby promoting good growth of crop's in the farm.

Drone's also helps the farmers make good and quality informed decisions, when it comes to crop monitoring, since drone's has good sensor's that captures infractions in the farm this helps the farmer to have a distinguish Insight, when it comes to the behavior of crops.

Key Benefits.

There are lots of benefits when it comes to the overall contribution of drone's in the Agricultural spectrum, some of the benefits are as follows.

• Good Decision making And Reduction of Guess-Work= Drone's analogy assist the farmer to pin-point various flaws in the development of crops in the farm, thereby good, quality, and informed decisions can be taken to mitigate the error been encountered by the crop yield.

• Reduction of Environmental Hazard= When drone helps in the steady spraying of fertilizers, and insecticides, then environmental hazard can be reduced then plants and animal's will grow effectively.

• Reduces Cost of Man-Power.= Drone Is a machine, it has the capacity to cover large numbers of kilo-metre's, thereby saving costs , and reducing labour, thereby improving productivity.

How do drones help manage soil moisture and nutrient levels in crops?

Drone's fly above the sky with sensored cameras pointing down-below thereby monitoring the crops in the farm, one of the merits of drone's is that it enhances precision, the below listed way's are used by drone's to manage soil moisture and nutrients in crop's.

For Moisture Management we have the following.

• Soil Measurement= Drone's with it's camera's having sensor's are used directly in order to take full measurement of the Soil directly, remember there are various types of soil, the three include, Sandy soil, clay soil, and loamy soil, just as i know loamy soil is the best type of soil for planting purpose.

• Detection of Temperature Levels= Drone's help's to know the condition of a place at a particular time, it's inferad sensors assist to knowing the actual soil moisture level/stage at every affordable time.

• Multi-Imaging= Drone helps Farmers to know the exalt point and places where water needs to be applied (irrigation) to booster the yield of Crops in the farm, drone's captures all this, This is 2024 try applying the use of drone's to booster your economic yield, this will help you make some good amount of money.

Nutrient Level Management.

• Lab Analysis= Drone's are very sensitive as it collects soil samples for experiments and analysis thereby providing a good outcome, when the soil is been collected by drone, the lab analysis is been made by Human's in order to determine the efficacy of the soil sample before planting takes center stage.

• Accessibility of Crop Health= drone's help's in accessing crop health thereby indicating a portion where nutrient is needed to accelerate yield's through vegetable index.

• Crops Reflection And Refraction= Reflection comes from the sun, and all round crops needs light for growth, drone's in this case drone's refects nutrients through light deficiencies, thereby putting it in complete check.

Explain the significance of multispectral and hyperspectral imaging sensors in agricultural drones.

Multispectral and hyperspectral imaging are all regarded as drone's with the singular motive of crop monitoring, in order to enable the farmer make good and galvanized ideas, some of the significance as listed below 👇👇.

• Detection of pest= This drone helps to detect various pest and the various crops that the pest have affected or attacked before pesticides is been applied for mitigation.

• Detection of Nutritional deficiencies= hyperspectral imaging drone assist in knowing the specific nutrient deficiencies, and thereby profiling solutions.

How drones help in soil mapping and why is it important for precision farming?

The application of drone in Soil mapping is critical and crutial as it helps in boostering farming practices overall, below are some of the reasons you need to know when drones are associated to soil mapping.

• Data Linking To Co-ordinate= This has to do with adjunnig data to Co-ordinate, what the drone does is to collect designated soil for example loamy soil to a location where practical work will be carried out.

• Usage of RBG Camera's= These are camera's used while programming the drone, the main function is to capture soil imaging.

• Creation of 3D Model= This helps to identify specific slope, and tangible elevation models for terrain mapping, this is very important generally for soil mapping.

Importance For Precision Farming.

• Soil precision help to uptone the magnificent ion of fertilizer application in the farm, thereby boosting the quality of yield's that will be produced in the end.

• Soil precision helps the farmer to choose a specific grains that will be suitable to the soil designated for planting purpose.
