Farming as stated in this contest theme can be defined as the cultivation of crops and rearing of animals for consumption or commercial purpose.

Is farming a good profession? Let's hear from your opinion.

Farming is indeed a good and benefiting profession only if you know what you are doing, Because it gives us the chances and opportunity of providing food for the people and making the world a happier place to live, it as well has a high rate of occupational sectors e.g in my country Nigerian more than 50% of the country population earns their living through farming & agriculture that is to say farming provides jobs to a greater percentage of people in my country, also farming is good profession because it contributes greatly to support and growth of many countries national income.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of being a farmer?
Almost everything in this life is back up with advantages and disadvantages likewise to farming which I will be listing them out.....

Advantages of farming.

The advantages of farming includes...

• farming provides food for large population like meat, beans, groundnut, garri, plantain e.t.c
• Farming and agriculture is also a source of governmental revenue and income.
• Farming also provides raw materials for agro-based industries which helps support and encourage the growth of local industries
• Agriculture and farming provides foreign exchange e.g West African countries through the exportation of primary agricultural products.
• like I said earlier it contributes to the national income of many countries.

Disadvantages of farming
The disadvantages of farming includes.....

• poor transportation aspect such as bad roads and distance to the markets
• pest and diseases can also be the problem of farming.
• problem of land tenure system that is to insufficient land space for farming.
• lack or insufficient storage facilities can be a problem of agriculture because it leads to spoilage of essential goods.
• unfavorable climate and weather conditions affect farming e.g drought, excessive rainfall and flood etc.

Of course yes, am a complete farmer for that matter who involves in cultivation of different crops like maize, cassava, groundnut and many more and I also partakes in rearing of different animals like pigs, goats and chickens, which I have gotten so much experience in it, like planting of crops, fertilizing crops, feeding and taking good care of animals, performing manual labour, and providing special and proper diet for my animals, and also learning more about the sustainable farming methods.

Finally, show us a picture of your farm, it could be a garden, cassava or yam farm etc. And tell us a little story about it.

From the pictures above you can clearly see when am taking care of my animals like sweeping their house and feeding the goats and also when am working in the farm with my brother.
