Islamic State attacks Kabul gathering, killing at least 32 By Reuters

Islamic State shooters started shooting at a function in Kabul on Friday, killing in any event 32 individuals in the first significant assault in the city since the United States agreed with the Afghan Taliban on a phased withdrawal of U.S. troops.  

A top Afghan political pioneer, Abdullah, was present alongside other key political figures and escaped safe.  

Some 81 individuals were injured, an administration spokesman said, including that the loss of life could rise.  

Islamic State asserted responsibility for the assault, the gathering's Amaq news office covered its message channel.  

The Taliban, who were ousted from power by U.S.- drove troops in 2001, denied inclusion almost right away.  

The social event denoted the 25th anniversary of the demise of Abdul Ali Mazari, an ethnic Hazara pioneer who was slaughtered in 1995 in the wake of being taken prisoner by the Taliban.  

Several individuals were murdered in a similar assault on the same remembrance last year, which Islamic State had also said was completed by its militants.
